I'm Outta Time did have a couple of high notes but the whole of this chorus seems to be bloody difficult to sing. Put it this way mate, i dont forsee many covers of the tune pouring out like you say might have to tranpose down 2keys

I absolutely love Liam's last 'For what it's worth' on this - what a singer.

Ugh why did people have to mention Carry Us All. Probably my least favorite Oasis song!

Fuck me that was hard to sing, had to completely change round the chorus melody. Chords aren't completely right, few wrong ones in there I'm sure but it's not far off.
Absolutely love this song.

Liking it more after a couple of more listens. Still think it's a bit robbie and a bit cliché though About the chorus, the way he sings the "I'm" in 'For what it's worth Im sorry" is a bit weird. Sounds like they took the "I'm" from another take and put it in between the other words from the chorus. The one take where he was maybe able to reach that note Ending of the song reminds me of the ending of don't go away.

LG's Carry Us All. It's the first thought that crossed my mind after hearing the chorus. Need more listens. Carry Us All sprang to my mind as well when the chorus kicks in. Reminiscent of 'Everybody's going for a quick sure fire solution ...'

Decent on first couple of listens. Bit generic. Kinda getting the RW comparisons, but it feels more like one of his lesser B-sides from one of his first 4 albums (ignoring the swing one ). Never had you down as such a Robbie connoisseur @isness ;-) First album I ever got was his first greatest hits compilation back over a decade ago, and the first version of Wonderwall I heard was a cover he did Also, I'd argue that he's been more experimental (at least in moving between genres) throughout his career than Oasis or either Gallagher has ever been

This is a very difficult song to sing, he really has to take care of that voice if he wants to make it justice live.
Anyway, these types of songs were my least favourites back in the Oasis-days, so I am not the target audience for this.
I also think, they should have come out with a up-tempo song for second single as well, a ballad could/should have been only the third single. And I would have preferred Bold, as that is a more genuine and heartfelt song, imho.

It's a beautiful song. Yes it's got a bit of a pop structure. Remember 2013 when (most) of this forum was desperately wishing that Beady Eye would create something that was remotely acceptable commercially and wasn't just a complete oddity?
When you think of it as a little brother singing it to his big brother...it's really beautiful.
I think in a way, some Gallagher fans will enjoy this more than normal people will, if you take in that context. But for once, it should easily also get mainstream positivity.
Lots of us are used to roaring scratchy vocals and guitar solo's here - I understand you guys didn't sign up for pop. For those, just skip this song.
I think if this came out instead of "Let There Be Love" or "I'm Outta Time" or "Songbird" it would've been seen as a big pop ballad hit for Oasis.
I think Liam is brash to Noel in everyday things because he sees this song as a one off Apology that really sums up how he truly feels for a second. After that introspective moment, he's going back to being a punk rock and roll star day to day. As you were

That said, they still might be lead-in singles considering the album only comes out in another nine years.

Q for older fans - when would you say Liam became known for ballads like this? Is this what he is to you?
I grew up in Heathen Chemistry times, where songbird and SCYHO and let there be love was his thing. I loved the whole "hard man bares his soul" angle.
But I suppose wonderwall and champagne supernova are also Ballady technically....do some people here think of Liam as a rocker and not care for his ballads?

I think its merged with Aldred's guide (or just Aldred) as it sounds EXACTLY like his voice on those two words.

great vocals, average song - I'd prefer songs like WOG all the time
I can see Debby or some guy from Warner coming to Liam: now, here's the point - we gonna need a sorry-song - something to make people believe you have really changed - a nice sweet ballad for the girls...

By the way, did anyone else get that magic Oasis feeling when the little guitar riffs kicked in. That was cool. It's missing Noel, it always will, but goddamn it was almost Oasisy for a second. I'm thankful to have a glimpse of the old feeling back

linkFor those who don't know Cherry Ghost, Simon Aldred wrote this absolute classic. Shame Liam didn't sing on this one.
