Not much of a U2 fan but by almost any objective measure they are bigger than oasis ever were. Why the fuck are they letting the support act close their gig?
Of course I get its probably about the one love thing but it still seems lame as fuck. If I was a big U2 nut but had no interest in noel/oasis I'd be a bit pissed off.

It did look a bit sad, Noel playing his hits and people just wandering in. Of course that's what opening acts do and I'm sure he's happy playing there and hanging out with his friends, but still... Noel came for the catering let's get real.

If people came expecting much more they were crazy. Of course it would have been nice to hear something different...but as people have said...it's just not Noel to do that.
I thought he sounded sharp and LBL was a welcome return for me (one of the best I've heard him perform that).

Noel is very conservative that way - and even tho he's played with everyone before - this is somewhat a new band. So yeah I'm not surprised by the set list at all for first go around.

Not another boring 'how dare those c*nts U2 desecrate the memory of Oasis' moan.
Oasis are a universal band, that's what makes them great - people you hate will love them. Get a grip.

Didn't live up to some of the past U2 concerts I've been at. Some great bits though. Onto Dublin next.

Just my opinion, if you disagree fair enough but you can go fuck yourself I'd thats the way you want to talk to me. I love oasis and DLBIA, but this is a U2 gig. If they want to let another act close their show then I happen to think it's a bit weak and wouldn't be happy if I was there to see U2. If your care to elaborate on why your opinion differs then I'd be happy to hear it.

Noel loves U2 and he wrote DLBIA so he can decide where he plays it or who plays it when. This is BS because you don't like U2. If it was a band you liked you'd love it.

Noel looks like he's taking a dump in his diaper while singing. Cool edge solo. Nice.

I didn't say I wouldn't have enjoyed it, nor did I say i didn't like U2, I said I wasn't a big fan. They are ok, I like all there classic hits.

Noel is too big to be opening for anyone, even for U2. So he closes the show for them instead You can be a U2 fan and not like Oasis, of course, but this song is more than Oasis now, its a global anthem of people against terrorism. I understand clearly why they closed the show with this one.

Possibly but U2 are doing this all the time now, pretty sure they've done it with Bruce Springsteen and others worldwide the band that were involved in the Paris terrorist attack for example. I don't think it's that much of a big deal really people around me seemed to enjoy it anyway. :-)

I don't have any issue with bands playing together esp at a charity gig just think if it's your own gig it should be about you. Especially closing the show. It doesn't upset me at all it was just an observation Glad you enjoyed the show. 😎

This forum is filled with a lot of hate. It's a hate release center most of the time.

Nothing strange. He's hanging out with friends and they let him close their gig with a song that has become an hymn for the One Love thing these days. I wish he could make it up with Liam and fill stadiums instead of opening to U2, but still ... "stop your crying, it's a sign of the times".
On a side note - well nobody would probably give a shit about what I'm going to write but I'll do it anyway - I must say the Don't Look Back In Anger solo sounded weak. Quite a poor effort from The Edge, I think the initial bending wasn't right as well.
Other than that, we know Noel. He seldom steps out from his comfort zone. While the setlist remains the same and it goes on and on and on.

It sounded like he was soloing to a different song, and the timing was way off in some spots-in terms of the notes he decided to play over some of the chords.

He was half-arsed improvising.

He was half-arsed improvising. That was made pretty clear by the end result.
