Wish I could click on a thread ostensibly about Liam's show and not have to read a pissing contest about Oasis vs. Radiohead. Everything in its right place, d'you know what I mean? You are aware that got started because someone labeled Radiohead "miserable sods" and I asked for reasons why. Didn't get any good ones that didn't contradict Oasis falling into the same traps. You are taking this entirely too seriously, which is too meta for me.

Liam sounds pretty good. Decent performance and his interview was cool too. Nice to see him like that. Also I have massive hangover and thought I've seen him sing don't look bak in anger, must be a fake video. if you saw it on YouTube there's a video of a tribute band doing it which some people confuse for being real

I was at Glastonbury and the atmosphere was brilliant. People were enjoying the gig and there were massive sing alongs (even wall of glass). Things this forum loves to do is take apart every single detail of the recordings but being in the crowd gives a totally different experience. Lots of positive responses from people that were at the gig.

I'd like to point out that I enjoyed Liam's performance a lot, first time in years I've found his live vocal acceptable. But oh my fucking Jesus get on this shit:
Sometimes I forget just how good he was.

Listening to his Glasto set just now. How good does he sound on Bold? Love the raspy "lay it on me yeaaah". I like the brass section on Greedy Soul!

The basis of the songs are good, but after 2 mins, they all go nowhere. Is this really all that professionnal musicians can come up with ? No outstanding solos, no imagination for instrumental parts...
And that guitar break on Wall of glass, my god that is bad.

I found a shot of the setlist from the stream and it had Live Forever on the end as usual. Did Liam decide to do DLBIA last minute?

My first thought was: He switched it because of the interview with Jo Wiley early where she mentioned about DLBIA being the anthem for everything that happened and that probably made him change his mind

Best he's sounded since 2001/2002? Definitely for me, fantastic performance, been playing it non stop.

He probably knew that the setlist would leak so he had his team type Live Forever so no one would expect it. I'm sure he rehursed it a few times first

Best he's sounded since 2001/2002? Definitely for me, fantastic performance, been playing it non stop. Certainly for the Oasis songs. He still doesn't sound quite so confident with the new stuff, but certainly on par with his best DGSS tour vocals. I've said it before but Liam singing like this makes me yearn for Oasis to get back together. Liam's proving himself to Noel who will finish his trilogy of solo albums this year, so the little kid in me is hoping for a reunion next year.

Friendlier from the Guardian: www.theguardian.com/music/2017/jun/26/glastonbury-2017-verdict-radiohead-foo-fighters-lorde-stormzy-and-more"...and thence to Liam Gallagher on the comeback trail. The latter was genuinely impressive. There was a real urgency and conviction to his performance, presumably fuelled by the fact that he realises his forthcoming solo album may represent the last roll of the dice for his post-Oasis career, after the widespread indifference that greeted his band Beady Eye. His voice seemed to have vastly improved from the period towards the end of Oasis, when he was less like a vocalist than a man caught in the throes of straining and failing to pass a stool; his new songs appeared to justify drafting in the help of songwriters for hire; his versions of Slide Away and (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? recaptured the feral power those songs had on arrival." OK, I could have done with the crude way to talk about his later Oasis voice, but I've read worse here.

I read Owen Jones' article on Corbyn today, totally negative comments. I read an anti-Corbyn article, totally negative comments. I read a review of Liam, totally negative comments. I read a review of Radiohead, totally negative comments.

The only thing Guardian readers love is the sound of their own voices.
