At the end of the day.....good voice or bad...this concert destroyed all of Noel's live solo gigs combined. Period end off Story. Its not even debatable. 3 Oasis songs Sung by Liam beats a Noel Solo gig. So go on and talk your shit cuz this post is absolute fact. And I love Noel. Have a great day. From the videos I've seen, I love all the Oasis covers, he put together a great live band!
I also liked the fact that they play the songs faster than Oasis was playing them in their late years. That's the way it should be with Liam. It's also interesting to note how Noel slows down his Oasis versions and Liam speeds them up, just another example of how different their approach to music is these days (which is alright, not hating here).
Be Here Now was incredible and it's probably the BHN track I like the less.
About the new songs, I love Wall of Glass, that final refrain is incredibly catchy! It's been stuck in my head since I first listened to it last night. I'm confident it will get a lot of airplay. The other songs, I'm still getting familiar with but All I Need is really nice, looking forward to that one.

That's the way it should be with Liam. I I just wanted to mention this. Especially Rock N Roll star was very fast. And I love it that way. I prefererred the 1996 versions of songs back then because they were faster. I am very happy with the sound of the band as they did last night. But I am curious about what they will play at the festivals. From all the songs last night people maybe recognise D´You Know What I Mean, Live Forever, Morning Glory and Rock N Roll Star. Most of the crowd not even those songs outside of England. I think he has to put in Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova (especially in asia this one is probably the best known song). Not so interesting for an Oasis fan but he needs to get the crowd over somehow. And he needs to keep the rockers from last night I think. You Better Run, You Better Hide and Greedy Soul are just meant to be played to a festival crowd. |

What are the odds that a soundboard recording will emerge? While I appreciate the effort on the phone recordings, several songs just sound like distortion and I'd like to hear what they actually sound like. I am also in favor of pushing up the release date of the album. Do we get a vote on that?

I have to say I think he sounded really good at this gig (from the clips i've seen).
As soon as I saw that he'd sand d'you know what I mean my first thought was..he must have butchered it but he actually sounded really good. Better than he did on BE imo.

Question to the gear-minded people who were at the gig: how did the guitars sound? I'm seeing that Mehler's using a Bluesbreaker + a 4x12 cab, definitely more 'deep-sounding' amp than the usual Noel's or Gem's setup. Also, what did the 2nd guy play on?

God I missed Liam... he's back in good form!
That Live Forever version a capella with the crowd and the candles, that's amazing. Liam was a class act to do that especially during a charitable gig.
