Mixed reviews at best from people on here then which is a shame. New songs haven't gone down well. Hopethings things pick up for Liam.

Not too crazy about the slow songs but I really like the fast tunes, especially Greedy Soul. I'm pretty confident now that this album won't turn out to be DGSS Pt. 2.

Paper Crown literally sounds like the best thing hes done since Oasis.
What is strange to me is ALL of these songs sound like Liam songs. If we hadnt been told he had co-written would anyone honestly be saying hes had help?
I dont mean it in a good or bad way. I think hes always had the potential to reach the heights of what we hear in the good songs and the lows of the not so good.

Paper Crown literally sounds like the best thing hes done since Oasis. Yeah i can imagine Paper Crown on my head how it will sound on record and i'm pretty sure it will be awesome. Quality and people talking over it etc don't make it good listening from those phone recordings we have but u can still hear it has nice melody and stuff. It will be great once we get the whole album! |

I managed to tear myself away from the fellow Periscoping the whole thing last night but have had a sneaky look at some of the clips today and am enthused by what I've heard. |

I didn't go through the thread since I'm holiday, but I listened to some of the new song snippets on YouTube... and I must admit they leave me pretty cold. Really wasn't expecting that since I thought the songwriters could come up with something very different. Someone said it above: the songs sound like they could have been written by Liam (fair enough, since that ensures continuity on the album and the songwriters had a client to please).
The most interesting one by far is Wall of Glass with the instrumental break, but even that one is missing that extra something for me. It's nice enough and all that, just not "great".
The most positive takeaways for me are that the band sound really good and that Liam is sounding the best one could expect nowadays: he's not reaching the high notes on Wall of Glass but he's keeping a powerful tone throughout without cutting notes short. Also, that some Oasis classics are being played again.
I'll wait to hear the studio versions to properly evaluate the songs, but so far they seem a bit underwhelming.

Just received an email from my friend who was at Ritz last night and I'm so so happy that he and his wife had such a brilliant time just like many of you on here. Got to say it was great seeing Liam back last night. He sounded on top form however still seems quite angry when he sings which is surprising considering he seems in a good place atm.
I pray though that they only played so many new songs to see how they worked live, playing more than 3 at the festivals would be suicide.
Thought Wall of Glass sounds epic and can't wait to hear the album version today.

Not at all, the reaction on here to Liam gig and songs is mixed, that's all I said, it's a fact. I hear things from people I know but Tbf I've stated in posts I've seen that it maybe incorrect. Not on windup at all, I'm looking fwd to hearing Liam stuff as much as anyone. |

This gig was special. Have a beer, listen to Oasis, celebrate our generation. The new album will probably not be Sgt Pepper, but i think we can live with it and still enjoy it. Peace and Love and Live Forever. amen! at the end of the day we are all OASIS fans. just enjoy the album for what it is. i for one am not listening to any of the new material until the album comes out. |
