Paper Crown literally sounds like the best thing hes done since Oasis. What is strange to me is ALL of these songs sound like Liam songs. If we hadnt been told he had co-written would anyone honestly be saying hes had help? I dont mean it in a good or bad way. I think hes always had the potential to reach the heights of what we hear in the good songs and the lows of the not so good. I know what you mean. To me 'Greedy Soul' sounds a Liam written track (Could be totally wrong). Think that one sounded more basic/raw than the others The other tunes like you say sound like proper Liam songs. Paper Crown i reckon could be great, Start Anew/Let there be love kinda finale ? Very beatles-eee that one It doesnt have to be that way sounds great, only about a minute of that on youtube but sounds really good. Never keen on the sound at the Ritz though, felt the same after Beady Eye. Near the back it was much better but at the front it was just tons of noise. When i had to leg it to the toilets the sound sounded great on the speakers down there on the bottom level. But a great night. Good to have Liam back singing and with some new tunes

The new songs are great. This album contains some hard rock songs. That prove Liam is the true "rocker" of Oasis. Bold is wonderful. NGHFB are commercial pop

I think all of the new songs sound fantastic, and very promising, I reckon it'll be a great album. I feel quite fortunate to be one of the people who is genuinely excited for both Liam's album and Noel's album, unlike these negative nancies who judge songs based on a phone recording, or the idiot one-sided people who just "have" to pick Noel or Liam only. I pity all of you greatly. Happy days

Had a good listen to most of the new songs this morning. Seem decent. Greedy soul and universal gleam have grabbed me most. Really good.
I'm not going to be too harsh on any of them till I've bought the album and played it death. I bought definitely maybe on release in 1994 and consider it an all time classic album now but that judgment didn't come after one listen.
I didn't think any of the songs seemed out of place. The big diffrence was the crowd reaction but thats only natural.

Amazing night although the sound was pretty poor, I was near the front though. It's just so amazing to have Liam back, this time last year we didn't think we'd be seeing him again for years, but soon as he walked on that stage it just hits you it's where he belongs, his presence is unmatched by anyone.
I have to say, I was very very impressed with how Liam sounded on the Oasis songs, he absolutely nailed D'you Know What I Mean, having watched a video back of it he sounds vocally like the MTV Superdry gig but better. Got to be happy with that.
His vocals on the new songs surprised me in terms of how high some of the notes were, was happy to hear that, they haven't worked around his vocal range like they did with DGSS which sometimes just led to it being a bit monotone and although he did have to strain on some of them, he did great on the whole.
I think some people need to realise he is never going to get back to sounding like 96, his vocal chords are fucked and it must be an on going battle for him to keep it as fresh as he can. Just be happy he is back on that stage sounding as great as a 2017 Liam could.
I noticed on a few songs he had that brilliant growl back (see the "lay it on me" part in Bold for example) which I haven't heard in ages which is really exciting.
So on to how I thought the new songs sounded - Really liked them, I've had Universal Gleam on repeat all morning, so catchy, absolutely love it. Really happy with what they've done with Bold, can tell it's going to be brilliant on the album. Paper Crown sounds very promising, beautiful even, the melodies in that are great, sounded liked it was a hard one for Liam to sing live but just got away with it. All I Need sounds promising as well, love the melody again, guitar picking in the background sounds nice. I Get By is one of my favourites, gritty rock n roll and while we are on the subject of that I should mention Greedy Soul, although it's my least favourite (still enjoyed it) it could sound massive on the record. You Better Run, You Better Hide sounds like a good rocker.
We need to hold back proper judgement until we get proper soundboard audio, it's stupid to dismiss anything yet as the recordings don't do them justice at all. Some of the negativity already is pathetic, it seems as though if it's not Oasis to some, then it's average at best. This is such an exciting time to be a Gallagher/Oasis fan, just enjoy it instead of nit picking so many different things. Who would of imagined we would of heard Liam singing D'you Know What I Mean, Be Here Now and an acapella version of Live Forever in 2017? It's amazing.
I'm not sure why some members haven't been just outright banned from this section as all they do is moan or try to bring the mood down, what does it take to get a ban round here by the way? I'm not saying people aren't allowed to express their opinions and be negative, but there's certain members that have replied to this thread with what I predicted they would before we heard a note - moaning and negativity. It's just so fucking boring. All they seem to want to do is get a reaction from the people who are excited by all this.
But yeah I'll stop rambling now. Wall Of Glass tonight which sounded fucking massive by the way, never saw that weird guitar break being in there, love it!
Welcome back Liam.

Wow easy to upset people here You made nobody on here upset, but you've been trying your best to wind up people. grow up, if you can't handle people having an opinion you shouldn't be on a forum. Stop playing innocent.

On second listen today, all the new songs sounds interesting and entertaining. I think it's gonna be a pleasent album when it comes out. Saying that, it's still gonna be weird if he will play those songs through the whole summer live and release it only in October. Looking forward to the single today, it's not gonna be spectacular, but a grower i think.
Btw, I love how Bold sounds, it should definitely be a single at some point. I also like the sound of the band, they speeded up Rock N Roll Star and Morning Glory almost to a punk rock Pistols level, it's cool.
I just don't get why can't they release this album now. It would make so much more sense.

Another talking point, aside from the songs (which I thought sounded brilliant), was his band.
I thought they really nailed it last night, in particular the drummer. All of them really captured the energy and vibe that you would associate with Liam. Couldn't be happier.

Wow easy to upset people here, just say you aren't keen on a new song and same 2-3 people fly off the handle, grow up, if you can't handle people having an opinion you shouldn't be on a forum. Looking forward to Liam new song playing later, sounds good from what I've heard so far! It's not the fact you say it. I mean, I'm sure most people don't love everything. It's more the way you put it, that makes it come across as annoying trolling.

Be Here Now is a fucking tune, isn't it? It's actually one of my least favourite songs on BHN, but God, did this excite me or what yesterday!

Sounds like it was a great night. I checked out Be Here Now and it sounded fresh and Liam seemed into it. I've decided to skip hearing the new tunes and wait to hear the album on a proper sound system and let it was over me.
I don't want my opinion on the new tunes to be made by hearing youtube rips before I hear them in their perfect studio form.

If it were 1995, I'd still be 6. Time to grow up, move along and enjoy and appreciate what we have and what we are still getting at this point, which is still absolutely great.

Keep in mind he didn't sing "for what it's worth" which apparently has the albums biggest chorus

I also like the sound of the band, they speeded up Rock N Roll Star and Morning Glory almost to a punk rock Pistols level, it's cool. No, they played it at its proper tempo. What we got from latter day Oasis and Beady Eye was slowed down nonsense, which started from when Starkey filled in on drums. The DOYS tour version of Slide Away was painful - last night was the closest I've heard to '97 Oasis since...erm 1997. Even Drew's backing vocals were close to Noel's in parts. (He used to be bassist for Pete Doherty / Babyshambles by the way).

The king is back...he's belted out some fan favourites...new songs sound promising. Liam's voice still divides us...clearly some songs he sounded a bit flat on notes...other songs he's the master. Exciting times for us all

Wow what a gig. I´m sorry that we couldn´t do any streaming but it looks like others did it anyway. But we taped the full gig and will upload it a little later. The concert was one of the best I´ve been so far (my 21st Gallagher concert). The crowd was great, the songs were great, Liam was great, the band was great. I have to say I met the nicest people last night out of any Oasis/Gallagher gig so far. Everyone was polite, no big problems, it was really enjoyable from the start to the end. Seeing Liam again live was just fantastic. His voice isn´t 96 anymore and will never be again but everyone should know that by now. He did a great job last night. The band fits perfectly in my opinion. They sound raw and hard - even with the old tunes. I can´t really remember all of the new songs for now but I love Wall Of Glass, Greedy Soul and one of the later harder tunes. Bold I didn´t like in the pub video and still don´t. But let´s see how it sounds on the record. Be Here Now was one of my favorites. Liam looked like having fun, the crowd was crazy for it, I just love it. Live Forever like that - would anybody ever thought this would happen? Amazing I don´t know if this is the setlist for his festivals but I guess not. Actually I think this was a setlist only for Manchester so even the upcoming small gigs will be different. I hope he does well with this. Thank you Liam, I´m really glad you are back

I know we have to wait for the album to properly judge, bur I'm happy with most of what I've seen/listened. Really liked Bold and I Get By (must be a track he co-wrote with someone since it wasnt on the website), Paper Crown, Universal Gleam and All I Need sound promising. I was a bit let down by Wall of Glass and Greedy Soul, but again, time will tell.
Some people here will never be satisfied, he played a lot of new songs and some old stuff from Oasis, really cool set, maybe he should've mixed a little bit more, but honestly, I think some of you either have your expectations too high or you simply don't like Liam/Noel/Oasis. Just try to enjoy it, ffs.
