32, male. I've been a fan since 1996, that's 21 years of Oasis fandom and it's been great.

I may be wrong here, but it is possible that this thread might be a front for internet chatroom cybering.

I may be wrong here, but it is possible that this thread might be a front for internet chatroom cybering. deffo not a front for anything, just sorta interesting that the majority of people in this server are blokes who would be at a max 10 years old when they were in their prime and how there is no oasis fans in this server that are over 50. tho that could be a technological issue tho haha

39/f/Ohio. Curious who the 40-50 girl is.... Thanks. While I'm sure I'm not the only one here, that is my tick. You know, whenever I finish knitting socks for the grandkids I indulge myself in pretending I'm still young and can still love music and everything that goes with it. TBH, I crossed the line to the big four just last year. Did not hurt at all, honestly! As for Oasis, while I would have the ripe, ah, right age for having been there from the start, I was not, that happened just four years ago.

Also, I'm not female, I'm male - I changed my status to female so eva would stop sending me weird PM's... And, need you to post some cat gifs. Thanks.

35. American. Been banging the Oasis pots and pans since late 1994. Not many people were listening apparently. In the old days (90s, pre Internet) the only way to get Oasis news was hang at the Barnes and Noble bookstore for the import music mags from England. You'd have to check often. Never knew exact arrivals of those VERY expensive magazines. Helped me discover so many other great U.K. Acts. Wouldn't have wanted it another way really. I feel like Jim is the Scottish version of myself. Except I don't have cool bootlegs or rarities or encyclopedic knowledge on recordings.

My accent is probably between those 2 videos, it can be quite harsh on the ear. I would speak to a lassie with the polite voice and then end up speaking like the wee alky when I've been out the drink! 🍺😎

Got into Oasis during the SOTSOG era when I was 14,
Couple of classmates who were cooler than me were talking about Oasis' new album and said I should get it, which I did for my 14th birthday. After that one of them lent me The Masterplan after which I was hooked. I brought DM, MG within 2 weeks but I had to wait a further 3 weeks to get BHN because the only copy was in Woolworths for £16.99!!
It was amazing hearing these songs for the first time

32, Oasis fan since 1998 when I discovered "(What's the sroty) Morning glory?" & "Be here now"; I bought "Definitely maybe" & "The masterplan" in 1999 I think. Skipped school to buy SOTSOG the day it was released (I'd bought "Go let it out" on its release day as well), but my first gig wasn't until 2002 at Finsbury Park.
Didn't lose interest after the split, I like Beady Eye & High Flying Birds & I'm looking forward to Liam's album whenever it finally gets released.
I was an obsessive fan between 2000 & 2004, scouring eBay & record shops for bootlegs or rare pressings, etc.; nowadays I don't listen to Oasis as intensively as I used to because I'm busy listening to so many other artists (not only of the rock genre), but I'll play an album (or single when I want to listen to the b-sides) every now & then with undiminished pleasure & I still like the band as much as I used to when I was 14, which is something I'm really glad about.

This is my story, exactly the same, even the SOTSOG bit! Except for the Finsbury part. Saw them for the first time in Düsseldorf a year later. And I'm having very fond memories of finding the All Around The World and Supersonic singles in small local record shops where I used to live back then, around 1999, listening to Take Me Away and Flashbax in my room and just thinking that this band gets better and better. What a pain and pleasure at the same time it was to get hold of the singles pre-internet, you didn't even know the artwork, let alone the titles on the b-side. Good times.

Yes, I bought the singles in 1999 as well after I got the albums, but I had to search every record shop because they didn't have them all & I didn't know how many singles there were actually. Many times I thought I had them all & then found another new one. I didn't have a computer until 2000 so couldn't check Oasis' discography on the internet; however things got clearer when I bought one of many biographies of the band which had a discography at the end. Of course, all these books were published before the release of "Be here now" so the discography was incomplete in 1999 but I had already found the "Stand by me" & "All around the world" CDs by then. "Whatever" was one of the hardest to find for some reason, I had to wait till I went to Scotland in summer 2000 to get it, along with "Sunday morning call" which had just been released.
