I like it, I think it's a grower! But then, I liked 48:13 and adore Empire.

I've been listening and seeing them live since 2004, but I've had enough with this band since a couple of years ago. Stop being so negative. There's no need if you have no interest in Kasabian.

I think the album Empire really sums up the stark contrast within the band's output. This is the album that Karloff left early on during the sessions, and it's no surprise to hear that you can make out a stark difference between the scant number of Karloff co-written tunes and the ones in which Serge was left to his own devices with. Two of the three songs with Karloff's input from that album are my favourite - the title track and Stuntman. I think they naturally follow on from the debut which is a testament in itself. For sure, a guitar band dabbling in electronica has become a bit of a cliche these days, and lyrically they have always been mince and you're not going to find moments of profundity or enlightenment in their music. But they knew how to conjure up pulsating tunes that provided the listener with an amphetamine rush. Their debut's not nearly a classic by any stretch of the imagination but it still stood out in stark contrast to the shite that was being flung out in that era like Razorlight and The Fratellis. In sum, they were a lot of fun.
The problems that manifest themselves on Empire became the norm for the band. Serge thought he was a classic songwriter by trying to write disciplined and conventionally structured pop/rock songs, and they became one of those 'other' bands from that era. You couldn't imagine a song as dreadful as British Legion ending up on their debut, but it sadly wouldn't be out of place on any of their albums onwards. There's been a few instances where they try to hark back to the sound of their debut but two heads are better than one as Karloff proved, and Serge just isn't the generation defining songwriter he likes to think he is. On top of that, you have to contend with the hot air that comes from Tom and Serge with every release touted as 'era defining' and 'taking rock music out of the gutter'. That's not just arrogance, that's delusion on a level with Viva Brother, with songs almost just as bad. When you mix such hubris with ever diminishing and terrible songs, you start to realise that they are the problem with rock music, not the solution.

I gave it another go round and its still no better besides the chorus being slightly better to listen to, its something id expect as album filler not as a lead single, its fairly repetitive, the melody is pretty basic, its just nothing that I want to keep coming back to, its just there, it has no big song feel about it and doesnt hit you that they are back with a new album, feels like a unused tune they just released for the sake of it.
seems to be one of those songs that was chosen because it means something to someone in the band and they therefore think it must mean a lot to other people rather than it actually being a really strong tune.
very underwhelming, at least eezeh had a unique style to it.

Pure pish. I love their debut album, and the second one is decent, but the rest of it is not for me. I think Matt makes a good point with the departure of Karloff.

Definitely a grower. Nothing extraordinary, but I guess I'm gonna like it as the weeks go by because at first I thought it was a bit odd and forced, but now I can pleasantly listen to it. Solid chorus, even though the song is a bit boring maybe. Maybe it's a production problem?
That cover though. Oh my, it's appalling. It looks like a shit fake cover made with Paint ahaha

Haha do you still buy music or What? Stupid idiots Actually I'm one of those "stupid idiots" who still buy music. You can't call others "stupid idiots" just because they do different things/have different opinions.

I don't know if there's a more blinkered fanbase in music than Kasabian's. At this point they're openly mocking you and what comes back is "i-it's a g-grower" and "album artwork doesn't matter in 2017".

think "its a grower" basically it means its abit shit but your lowering your expectations on each listen so it becomes less worse.
