'Welcome to the Machine' is a superb shout carlober . I'm definitely voting for that. Anyway to specifically follow up 'I Wanna Be Adored' I nominate the following as I've yet to see them listed: - Loomer - Loveless - My Bloody Valentine
- Slip Inside This House [13th Floor Elevators cover] - Screamadelica - Primal Scream

If the idea is to create an album with flow may I suggest that if there is anyone who has a strong idea for what they want to vote for for the next track (in this case track 3) they carefully consider what they want in this soon to be current vote (track 2). i.e. If people really want 'Live Forever' for track 3 perhaps they should be voting for a song which fits well between that and 'I Wanna Be Adored' even if a vote for 'Live Forever' doesn't even exist yet.

Risingson - Mezzanine - Massive Attack
Flows well from the end of Adored, but might make the album a moodier one.

Alright fine. If people want to be pedantic and stick only to track numbers, then I can't stop you guys. Anyway, allow me to continue my crusade to make our Most Perfect Album more musically daring and diverse with these nominations. I kind of feel like that there are two ways to follow IWBA, either with a more fun, upbeat song to lighten the mood, or another atmospheric song to continue the emotional gravity. Air - Sexy Boy DJ Shadow - The Number Song Cocteau Twins - Pitch the Baby The Prodigy - Breathe Beastie Boys - Shake Your Rump Or, if you'd prefer something more conventional: Blur - Song 2 The Smiths - Frankly, Mr. Shankly The Verve - This Is Music Bob Dylan - Tombstone Blues Nirvana - In Bloom Oasis - My Big Mouth

Svefn-G-Englar is the obvious answer, of course.

A few more tracks worth considering:
The Smiths - You've Got Everything Now (narrowly beating Rusholme Ruffians from Meat Is Murder) Neil Young - Thrasher David Bowie - Soul Love The Stooges - Loose The Who - Bargain
Edit: For the sake of musical diversity I also feel the need to nominate Master of Puppets by Metallica.

Anyone can start thread number two if they want but maybe we should just start nominating our choices here until tomorrow or Wednesday. I don't think we'll be seeing any changes with this poll. Anyhow, I recommend We Exist by Arcade Fire for track number two.

'Rock and Roll Star' should be the Oasis song on this album, replacing 'I Wanna Be Adored'.
Thanks.

I Wanna Be Adored has to be the worst song on that list, seriously guys get your act together! does anyone want to re-do the polling for the first track and first track ONLY, this time removing/disqualifying 'i wanna be adored' BUT with the understanding that a roses track MUST be included on the album somewhere in between tracks 2-11?

Unfortunately I can't add to the poll, so who's willing to do it again just to have Rock N Roll Star on there? That means no chance for Live Forever or Wonderwall or whatever, but actually having a decent opener instead.

Don't Look Back In Anger will undoubtedly and no matter what be track #4, so let's save this spot for Oasis. I Wanna Be Adored would still be my favourite opener, just because it's I Wanna Be Adored. That song goes far beyond it's actual tune, in my opinion. I mean, most songs on that list obviously have more hit potential or appeal and importance but this very song sounds like the prelude to the bible or something. Especially in the context of this forum and mancunian musical history it is meant to be the opener. In my opinion, anyway.

Even if we don't like the result. However, I'm pretty sure that Live Forever absolutely needs to be the Oasis representative on our album. After all, that's what the forum's called, innit?

I do like 'I Wanna Be Adored', but I don't love it. Gimme Shelter, on the other hand, is a serious contender for being one of the greatest songs of all time, let alone one of the greatest ever opening tracks.

Or you just accept that no matter what will win, not everyone will be happy anyway.

Honestly, the most scandalous thing about this poll is not that I Wanna Be Adored won but that I was the only one who voted for Thunder Road. Seriously wtf?

I nominated it - BUT I didn't vote for it on the decision that I didn't know what song could ably follow it. I should have voted it anyway because I don't think sequencing is going to come into this much. It's undoubtedly still the greatest album opener ever though.

Why 11 tracks? Why not 10 or 12? Even number ftw. If folk want twelve, then we can have twelve. I just thought ten songs was not enough.
