I've got a Pet Sounds boxset, has about 10 different takes on 'God Only Knows', great song but the album we're making needs some energy....it needs 'When The Levee Breaks'. This album needs to party, the kinda album you can listen to while drinking an entire bottle of tequila, and once finished with the bottle you still have the energy and wherewithal to bury the hooker you just killed. Thanks.  This made me laugh, and obviously love that movie, too! Thanks. |

I like to leave results up for about a week so everyone can see the relative performances of all songs! And I gave When The Levee Breaks a spin on my iPod on the way home from work today (I have Led Zep on my iPod, I just never bother to listen to them).
And fair enough, I'll admit as a non-fan, it is a good tune with a heavy rhythmic groove. But it's still no God Only Knows!
I'll get it up in the next couple of days so we can vote in the tie break over the weekend,

at the end of the day this one was like ali/foreman, two heavyweights going head-to-head, blow-to-blow, beating the crap out of each other. someone had to lose, it really could of gone either way, depending on who has been on here to vote the past couple of days. i knew it was going to be within a couple of votes, either way. if we did this tiebreak again, the results could be different.

Here are my two nominations for track 9. As usual, they are semi-unknown songs that I love and which have basically zero chances to win. This forum has introduced me to so much great music during the years, and threads like this one really are a goldmine if you're looking for quality stuff and bands. Listen to the Kurt Vile tune if you have three minutes to spare, it's amazing. Kurt Vile - Snowflakes Are Dancing ( youtube link) The Cardigans - Live and Learn ( youtube link) By the way, both songs are acoustic-based, so they'd fit nicely after the monster that is When the Levee Breaks. |
