No surprise here, as Live Forever romps home. 17.8% of the vote is unlikely to be beaten. Though Heroes garnered a bigger percentage of voters than Eleanor Rigby in Round Two which is a interesting. With Come As You Are coming third, One coming fourth and Teardrop rounding up the top five, I think it's fair to say that's a very high quality top five there, full of iconic tunes. 'heroes' and 'one' were the two songs i thought had a fighting chance. i actually thought that heroes had a decent shot at it. i think had it been up against anything else it would have easily won outright. anyway, here are my two nominations for track #4: paul weller - you do something to me the rolling stones- memory motel

so we now have a quarter of the album filled out, and bowie, the kinks, the stones, weller, U2, r.e.m., pink floyd, radiohead, nirvana, smiths, clash and verve tracks are all still on the table. pretty remarkable when you think about it.

here's a question, that i don't think has yet been addressed. even though the beatles and oasis are already on the tracklisting (what a surprise), are macca (& wings), lennon, george and ringo solo tracks still fair game for nominating? and what about hfb's and beady eye tracks?

How To Disappear Completely or Wierd Fishes / Arpeggi - Radiohead
So It Goes - the verve
I would prefer 'A Storm In Heaven' track on this album, so I know my Verve votes probably end up going into the dumpster anyway.

Wish You Were Here- Pink Floyd
It's not a rocker but it's simply stunning However if people did want something a bit upbeat (although WYWH cannot be beaten in imo) I suggest Sex Pistols- God Save The Queen

Simon and Garfunkel-Homeward Bound Coldplay-The Scientist David Bowie-Starman David Bowie-Life On Mars? Fleetwood Mac-Don't Stop
This has a smaller chance of winning, but Metallica-One

The Wild Ones - Suede Sunrise - New Order
Also, didn't we say at most 2 nominations per person and round?

The Stooges - Penetration Queens of the Stone Age - A Song For The Dead
Edit: Just realised I GOT to nominate Hummer by Smashing Pumpkins. If your nominations are limited to two track's I'd like that to replace A Song for the Dead.

can't seem to find anything to back this up online, but i heard a classic rock radio dj here in boston recently say david byrne wrote 'once in a lifetime' while sick in bed with a 102-degree temperature.

Once in a Lifetime - Talking Heads I really missed out not nominating 'The Great Curve' for track 3. As groovy as it gets.

Really hard to only pick 2, even though some of you already did nominate a few of my choices.
I go with:
Supergrass - Alright The Verve - The Drugs Don't Work
And if I can choose more than two songs, I'd add:
Big Star - Thirteen The Rolling Stones - Under My Thumb Belle and Sebastian - Like Dylan In The Movies Elliott Smith - Between The Bars The Divine Comedy - A Lady of A Certain Age

A great song indeed. Probably would fit in my B&S top 10. I also like There's Too Much Love even though it's not one of my absolute favourites. If I had to choose one Belle and Sebastian song, it would be "Sleep The Clock Around", without a doubt.

I'll definitely vote for There She Goes for track 5. One of my favourite tunes of all the time. I was suprised "Timeless Melody" only got 4 votes during 3rd round. I listened to "The La's" self titled album a few days ago, and I do think it's one one of the best pop albums ever made. Nothing comparable with the Monkeys or Kasabian (even though I understand you were talking about their respective links with Oasis ) . By the way, when will round n°4 begin ?
