Still waiting for Jordan to say he's just a victim of a Me Too witch hunt orchestrated by feminazis and George Soros. SInce he's anti-Trump(Adams) it will probably not happen anytime soon.

Oh for fuck sake.
I was only listening to his music a couple of days ago, Prisoner too which was one of my favourite albums from 2017. Unfortunately, I really have a problem in separating the music from the art for cases like this. It’s been well and truly spoilt.

Just imagine how much shit bands like Zeppelin, The Stones and The Who got away with in their day? Growing up in the 90s and all these bands were already well into middle age, so I never saw them as ‘cool’ and have never seen them as such. Have never got away from the thought that they are all a bunch of saggy sleazebags of the sort you’d see hanging outside nightclubs chatting up young girls. Looks like Adams is intent on joining them. Why is rock n roll full of so many creeps?

Well, that's more than disappointing.
The man clearly has problems and has had many problems in the past, but this is too much. It's not going to end well for him.

Gross.
I honestly only knew Ryan Adams as the guy that covered Wonderwall.

He was planning a big year of releases too. Three I believe. I wonder if he had any idea this was coming?

For what it's worth, here's his apology from Twitter. "hearing that some people BELIEVE I caused them pain saddens me greatly" Not the best apology I've seen.

For what it's worth, here's his apology from Twitter. Let me translate his apology to 11 words: "I'm sorry you made yourself feel that way with my actions." So much love and admiration for the bravery of those women who came out and spoke about him on record like that. I always knew he was an asshole, but holy crap…

Reading some of the stories about Zeppelin and Bowie make the seventies come across as a kind of drug-fuelled hellscape of rape and minor-abuse covered under the umbrella of rock 'n' roll. It seems kind of distant, though, and then things like this and R Kelly come out and you think that perversion will always follow the unaccountability that money bestows. I hope no musician I am actually a big fan of has ever done anything this vile.

I don't tend to subscribe to there's no smoke without fire but there's way too much smoke here. His non-apology is laughable. I was thinking about going to his Sheffield show in a few weeks but I'll vote with my feet on this, although I guess the tour might get pulled anyway.

I have not read those stories in detail, but wasn't the main difference back then that these "oppurtunities" were more presented and always available, while today's sleazy rockers have to "work for it" to another extent? Not trying to defend anyone's actions here, but I just try to find a reason that those older bands get more of a pass, other than the passage of time. Is it easier to forgive for example Bowie because he was on drugs like everyone else and didn't remember to ask(don't remember the article, perhaps he did) her age, rather than Ryan Adams writing 3.000 text messages to an underaged girl in a much more calculated way? That might be the case, no matter if it's wrong or not.

Just realised I won't ever be able to enjoy 'La Cienega Just Smiled' again. I mean, the line "How'd I end up feeling so bad for such a little girl"... No need to explain it really. Might be my favorite of his, which makes it even worse. The rest of the songs I like I will probably listen to again someday, but I guess it has to do with them not being that recent, which means I can sort of disconnect them from all this shit we've recently learnt about that may not have been part of his behaviour back then(?).
How are you "real" Ryan Adams fans dealing with this particular subject? Just curious.

You know what is really weird. In Almost Famous Russell Hammond is 26. Penny Lane is 16. They been together prior to the movie starting 2-3 years before. So when you do the math it looks really bad for good old Russell Hammond. I’m sure Cameron Crowe blended that character from a lot of people he follows covering rock in the 70s.

Was watching that Elvis documentary a couple of weeks ago, and apparently he met Priscilla when she was 14, while stationed in Germany. She asked her parents if it was ok for her to meet him, and they okayed it which was rather questionable as well. It wasn't expressed as a date, but does that even matter? Creepy stuff. Anyway, I didn't know this until later when I googled her name. In the documentary her age was never even mentioned, unless I remember it incorrectly.

Stars flock to be in films by Polanski and Woody Allen. One guy raped a girl and ran off to hide in Europe the last 40 years, the other sex with minors and even married his own adoptive daughter. So much worse than Adams. I just don’t get that kind of stuff. They even gave Polanski a fucking Oscar!!!!

I didn't know much about Roman Polanki, I Wikipedia'd him, that's not good.....maybe some people gave him a break because his was wife killed by the Manson family, I don't know....he's no longer allowed in the U.S. Didn't he do 'The Pianist'? Such a great movie.... As far as Ryan Adams, I like a few songs, never really looked into his discography, not hard to distance myself from him.... Thanks.

I don’t think you get a pass for your wife being murdered. That happened in 1969. He drugged and raped a 13 year old in 1977. Horrendous human being and yet Hollywood lines up to work with him and the public still sees his movies.

So yeah, while there's no excuse for what he did, those two things could very well be possible explenations....

I don't know, I shouldn't have replied to this thread to begin with, Ryan Adams isn't worth the time; I blame tequilã... Side note: I accidentally left my garage door open all night, I'm disappointed that no one broke in the house, which would give me legal justification for hurting some one really bad.....unfortunately, I live in a really nice neighborhood, so there isn't t much crime......and, I don't even own, and not legally allowed to own or possess firearms; other people possessing firearms and weapons makes the playing field a little more even.... I just need to get the hell a way from the internet, it makes making me soft....I'm slowly getting there; I really only order grooming products and clothes online, and watch hd porn on the intemet now.... Thanks.

Ryan Adams accused of abuse Crazy what people call "abuse" nowadays... Btw. the underage girl admitted to have lied about her age when he asked her and they never met, they only "sexted" about 3000 messages. And years later she suddenly realises she didn't want that. LOL.
