I'll believe it when the files are on my computer and I've heard the last note of the last track evaporate through my earphones His recent work with Eno may suggest it really could be happening. If Eno is on it as well, cancel all other albums next year. Nothing is topping it.

I also posted this in the Oasis thoughts thread. It is an attempt at a Space Rock, dirty ambient remix of Rock 'n' Roll Star. I feel it could be better, especially since I couldn't remove the tambourine from the track as it was embedded in the rhythm guitar multitrack. soundcloud.com/starsailor96/rock-n-roll-star-glider-space-mixhttps%3A//soundcloud.com/starsailor96/rock-n-roll-star-glider-space-mix

I've always thought that they were the best produced on that album, so why'd they stop at two?

He wasn't necessarily the producer on those songs, he had a role similar to his on Mylo Xyloto. He declined producing the record but did come in and added certain garnishes to the tracks Here She Comes and Sing with Neil. I think that them self producing yielded the best result and made them grow better as a band in sonic awareness. Eno had an influence on Neil especially, and I believe if they had just had him produce as he did with Coldplay, their ability to craft interesting numbers wouldn't continue without him, as you see with Coldplay.

Shoegaze discovery of the day: a band from Estonia named Pia Fraus. I've heard a couple of songs and their stuff sounds promising, I'll check them out.

An essential shoegaze anthem from a long-forgotten band that you've probably never heard of.
There's a comment on Youtube that sums it up perfectly: "Two chords poetry".

It's always great to revisit some shoegaze/neo-psych albums that you haven't heard in ages. The Verve's Beautiful Mind is so fucking cavernous and expansive, holy shit.

I've mentioned this a few times but I got Alesis Quadraverb this week and it has the same preset Nick used in Beautiful Mind. That huge watery reverb you hear in Beautiful Mind comes straight from that machine and I've already tested playing it myself. And yes, it's very close!

Just realised this song is pretty shoegaze-y. Incredible band.

So I saw Slowdive in Sydney last night to a packed house...it was lush, rich, moody, layered ...the band were match fit...tight but relaxed.....the crowd were all devotees; older hard core fans and a younger second draft....I’d not heard of them before this thread so I’m glad I had the opportunity to see them
This is not my video btw....

A great video for guitar geeks: Kevin Shields from My Bloody Valentine talking about his love for Fender Jazzmaster guitars and his playing technique.

I just found this Finnish shoegaze band. Never heard of them before and it sounds a lot better than I expected. Really loud with some MBV vibes.
It's almost 10 min song so I haven't even finished it yet. The first half is MBV style shoegaze and the 2nd half reminds me of Tame Impala's Innerspeaker album.

Random shoegaze song of the day. Life on Venus is a Russian band and I've just found this track, Rosetta. It's gorgeous... I'll check out more from them.

Slowdive meet Massive Attack. Great semi-unknown tune from the '90s.
