It's like the stones, on a mad one, fucking the verve up the ass So like this then, given The Stones (via Allen Klein) did fuck The Verve metaphorically? You got it!

Haha there was one time these type of quotes were being said one after the other. Then kasabian adopted it too, cringe worthy. I remember one being something along the lines of 'elvis covering t-Rex whilst smoking crack' Oh kasabian totally stole a page from Noel's playbook with their song descriptions. From their last album cycle: "It's like Led Zeppelin doing the Beatie Boys" - Serge on Bumblebee. * Wait.........they have a song called fucking Bumblebee!!!! Serge Pizzorno and Tom Meighan are like those two little kids at Christmas who get a Woody and Buzz outfit. They love it, they think it suits them, they believe they are just like them, but the adults look at them and think 'awww, how adorable!'.

I noticed that quite a fair percentage of discussions on all of the threads are about how shit Kasabian got.

Well from 'Kasabian' to '48:13' with the same attitudes/bravado they had as young men in Leicester around the days of The Shed nightclub gigs but without the new songs to continue to back that up or indeed evolve personally, they haven't exactly helped themselves

Think I prefer it to Kasabian. Shame the rest of the albums are a bit filler filled. Still I do love them, live they're great and compared to everyone else they are pretty decent.

Fair play, for me the decline has been with each album although 'West Ryder' did arrest that temporarily. '48:13' though I have given repeated listens to and nothing on it does anything for me, but they do seem to pull in a good crowd at festivals and still sell sizeable UK venues out so I have to give them that as well. It depends who everyone else is when comparing them, although if you mean similar British guitar based acts I take your point as there isn't a great deal of in the way of newcomers doing anything for me at the moment. That said being the boring, retro old git that I am I am currently digging on The KLF's 1991 album 'The White Room', who are still one of the greatest art/pop concepts of the 20th Century in my eyes

Scary to think even kasabian were 2004! The boom we had around that time with Arctics shortly after, there's been nothing since. They're nothing compared to the quality of oasis obviously but jeez I wish something even the same level as kasabian n arctics come along now. Music is so dull these days!

I would actually "prefer" a Pizzorno solo record over any new Kasabian record.

If you're only refering to british music I guess where you are coming from. But outside the UK there are a couple of good bands like the Growlers.

I don't think Kasabian have ever got close to the perfect album but they have amassed enough good tunes on each one to put together a live show that is as good as i've seen.

I've seen them twice and they are mind blowing as a live act, their albums have been patchy right through their career but the inevitable greatest hits album will one that I never find myself skipping songs on.

There were many bands who could make songs as good as Oasis but none of them are even close when it comes to full albums.
It's the songwriting. When all of your songs could be potential no.1 single, then you are close!

In fairness the two brothers in the Lemon Twigs had their dad to copy from with his seventies output Both their dad and themselves remind me of Emitt Rhodes as well to be honest, be interesting if Liam did follow such influences.

Sorry to break this to you kid, you're just getting old and out of touch with popular culture... ✌️ I suppose you mean that there is still good music out there. Because in my book it just doesn't make sense that someone would prefer the Arctic Monkeys over new music that is out there,... like Foxygen. I'll be probablystill listening to Foxygen when I'm 64. Did I say that Foxygen is a good band? Who would wan't to compare FOXYGEN with Kasabian? ...
