Fantastic stuff mate, I can't wait to read and listen to the full thing! Appreciate you taking the time to get something done for us today.
Got a question:
The songs you heard, were they completed versions or demo versions? That should give us a good idea of where he's at.
I'm guessing if it's for a magazine in February, then we should hear something around that time.

The songs I heard were fully mixed, the whole album is nearly completed. As I said we will hear something new very soon.

Thank you very much! Did you ask him something about this forum? (Since he knew what he meant with not varying the setlist)

Did he say if these were completely new songs he's wrote since the Beady Eye split or if there are any left overs from Oasis and Beady Eye?

Thank you man! Btw, there is no way that he can sing Listen Up. It would be obviously a different version to what we are used to, similar to what they did with My Big Mouth. Definitely doable though.

Thank you very much! Did you ask him something about this forum? (Since he knew what he meant with not varying the setlist) He is not reading forums but he knows people who do and gets opinions every now and then. But doing the same setlist every night he also didn´t like, especially at the last Oasis tour there were a lot of discussions about it apparently. Oa from what I know it will be all post BE songs. Means written after the release of the album. oasisserbia No, not the 94/95 version but a new one. Noels Oasis songs also aren´t anywhere near of the originals

Wow. I didn't think you'd actually ask our questions... so fair play to you for that. Some really interesting stuff here. Surprised to learn he likes Noel's D'You Know What I Mean? 'rethink'... And I can't wait to hear those Be Here Now-related tidbits you've promised, later on. I really wish fan interviews were more of a done thing. Providing they don't get overawed by meeting their favourite artists, and so long as, you know, they're sane, genuine fans can yield much better results than regular music journos ever could. And not only can they be hugely satisfying experiences for fans, but I imagine it could be an informative process for the artist, as well, meeting actual fans and having more in-depth conversations with them than just "Can you sign this for me?" "Yeah, alright. You got a pen?" That bit where you said you replied "Thank fuck!" to Liam promising changes to the live setlists made me smile. If only someone would say something similar to Noel. There's no telling whether it'd make him change his ways, of course - as we know, he's one stubborn bastard - but at least he'd know where large sections of his audience stood on the issue.

Thanks for the info, bastardnumber1! Real fans should be allowed to meet their heroes and ask them some questions more often. I can understand that it would probably be less interesting from a magazine/online fanzine point of view, but still...! I'm very jealous

Nice one, bastardnumber1! Thank you so much, looking forward to get the full story! Just the thought of hanging out with Liam is mindblowing, he must be such a top lad! I'm desperate to hear Liam's take on Don't Look Back in Anger! Would be absolutely criminal if someone just trashed it! If it's indeed deleted, this person should rot in hell ! Can't wait to hear a new Liam track, how soon is now ?! I just really hope Liam's management is preparing an epic promotional campaign for him! That's what he deserves and I'm afraid they will drop the ball

I can understand that it would probably be less interesting from a magazine/online fanzine point of view, but still...! I'm very jealous Not sure if it´s less interesting for magazines. I asked the guy after his shit 30-minute-typical-supersonic-oasis-reunion-twitter-interview if this really was worth going to London ( joladella ) cause he could have done this easily by phone or just read one of the 100 other interviews he gave the last 2-3 months or ask me and I could have told him the exact answers before (as 90% of you guys I guess). His answer was it´s a London trip so yeah it´s worth it which really pissed me off. I have nothing to do with that business so I can´t judge but this was just wrong and makes no sense at all. Maybe it was because he thought I would do the job (which I would have been fine with) but still. So yeah I think it would be a lot more interesting to let fans do interviews with their favorite musicians/actors/whoever. Maybe not a 14 year old Bieber fan but someone who gets bored to read the same stuff evertime. I think the artist also would enjoy it more. I would love to have people like davidjay or guigsysEstring (and others for sure) doing an interview with Liam or Noel just because they have so much backround info which I love to read about but never keep in my mind What I wanted to say, the press sucks as always

great read. Actually got some thick information here unlike the bullshit questions that usually get asked like "what colour socks do you wear?"
how would you compare Liams voice? is it on the same levels as BE, DOYS?, worse, better? also did he actually tell you when hes going to put something out? (I know you cant actually say when)

DM related stuff: He remembers doing the Blackpool Roadshow thing but he has no knowledge if this was ever shown and also doesn´t know who could have the recording. Real People recording he also couldn´t say a lot about but he will give my contact details to them to maybe get an interview with them (would need some help from davidjay if this really happens). Thanks so much for asking bastardnumber1, and for sharing all these great details from your interview (I just quoted this short piece so I could reply to your point about the Realies). Happy to help out if needed with Qs for the Real People. If you sent me a message here I'll see what I can do.

Amazing read bastardnumber1! Thanks so much for doing this and also for asking my Blondie question, I wondered for years if they actually recorded it. Glad to hear he was funny and that he knew about the setlists being boring during the last Oasis tour, I always tought in some he ways he understood the fans better than Noel. Buzzing now thinking that we could hear something really soon, the way you describe it (loud bass, dark vibes...) makes me think about Soul Love, sounds similar? Edit: Reading it again for the third time! Are you interviewing him again or Noel in January?

bastardnumber1, were two of the songs he played you 'Greedy Soul' and 'Bold'? If so, that he's written a couple of songs you and Ted Kessler (and I assume Mat Whitecross) agree are strong, is encouraging, but if he's only letting a couple of choice favourites out, the question still remains whether he could fill a full LP with good material. And that is a pretty fucking big question... (and it deserves a big answer, etc., etc.) Obviously, I know his record company and management and all that won't want people hearing the full album before it's even been announced properly, but it just makes me wonder...

I wouldn't get too excited. No offence to anyone, but let's not forget the praise around The Beat Goes On when it was released - on first listen, when you're hyped, mediocrity can sound amazing.

Great news to learn his new album will be out soon! I'm glad he changes the setlists (from what I read in previous Oasis/Noel interviews I gathered it was Noel who made the setlists & decided not to change them - a mix of perfecrtionism & laziness on his part), & very excited at the prospect of hearing "Be here now" songs again - at last! Now he needs a good live band to do them justice of course, & do justice to him as well. Hope his band will rock more than Noel's High Flying Birds which always were too soft for my liking. Now I'm eagerly expecting the rest of the interview, & the pictures!

I just hope Liam follows through with this setlist stuff and makes Noel look like a beige carpet then Noel might step up his game.
