Brian has confirmed he still has the tape.
This is revealed in an interview he did last year with Kyle from the Oasis Collectors Group. The interview is split into 2 parts - it’s a brilliant watch IMO - and is now on YouTube.
Can be found under “Oasis Collectors Group - Brian Cannon (Microdot) Interview”. The particular section is near the end of part 2 but I’d recommend watching the full thing as it’s a great watch.

What are they holding this tape back for? MG 30th anniversary addition next year hopefully? I really hope so. The unheard Noel song from 95 is pretty much the holy grail of unreleased material now for me, along with any version of Slow (IF it was ever recorded anywhere).
The different Wonderwall arrangements are very interesting too because I remember Owen Morris talking about it in an interview once and he said the earlier version had a different pre-chorus or it came in at at different time, something like that. In fact could anyone find that interview? Owen morris talking about the early versions of Wonderwall?

Im sure i've read that somewhere... EDIT: found it, in a 2012 interview with Morris in Sound on Sound I wonder if this is one of the versions on the tape? Interested to see what Owen is referring to when he says "a more complex way of getting to the bridge". Slightly different chord changes maybe? Or just a few extra bars? He also compiled a list of all the 90s songs and worked out roughy when and where they had been written. Is it Crimson Rambler? He'd be the perfect candidate! |
