Here's two for you all...(these are NGHFB-related): I absolutely HATE the album version of The Right Stuff, but...I absolutely LOVE the Psychemagik Rework version of it. I absolutely HATE the album version of Keep on Reaching, but...I absolutely LOVE the Reflex Revision version of it. You're not alone on this one. The album version might as well be fingernails on a blackboard to me. I'd rather listen to Aint Got Muffins/The Nature of Reality on loop then that song. ---- I can dig Keep On Reaching on most days. I LOVE how Ain’t Got Muffins is a thing. God bless the forum member who coined it years ago. Made me laugh out loud then and to this very day whenever I see it used.

Surely they passed up Live Forever, Supersonic, Slide Away, Cigarettes & Alcohol, etc so Noel could have all the success and money... Even The Realies have said that most of the early material is Noel's and they're cool with that. People need to stop defending people who are not interested in being defended at this point. This. Really sick of the narrative that this band that have no songs that come close to the quality of oasis are the real masterminds behind it. So Noel got guidance on a few things from a few people along the way. Hes a genius for what he took from people and went on to be bigger than any of them could ever dream of. Same goes for the idiots from Inspirals who claim any credit.

Noel didn’t write much of the first few records. The Real People Did. Point of order: this is more of a conspiracy theory than an unpopular opinion. And as far as Oasis consipriacy theories go, still not as good/out there as the One Love Story one ( mrlk.wordpress.com/2008/12/25/onelovestory-old-testament/).

Bring It On Down is one of the worst songs they ever recorded.
Fade Away or Headshrinker would have been much better choices to put on DM. I was gutted that Liam played BIOD at Finsbury and not DYKWIM or BHN.

(Had to go listen to it for a refresher... bad vocal quality, the whole thing sounds like a demo to me) Headshrinker is brilliant though!

They were going for a Pistols type of feel weren't they?

I think of all the opinions that BIOD one is certainly up there with the most unpopular!!
For me it’s in their Top 10 songs ever and I’d rather listen to that on repeat than DLBIA or Roll With It.
It’s just fuckin avin it!! Mega

Heathen Chemistry is a really good album. AMAZING TUNES: The Hindu Times Stop Crying Your Heart Out Songbird Little by Little Born on a Different Cloud GOOD TUNES: Force of Nature OK TUNES: All in the Mind Hung in a Bad Place A Quick Peep She Is Love Better Man I don't get why many fans hate this album.

A lot of the album sounds dodgy in the recording process. BOADC is a huge offender of this. I wish it had SOTSOG production. Two years too late.

I literally wrote the thread on why HC gets too much hate, but classifying Force of Nature "Good" according to your paradigm feels like a terrible misstep. It is probably the worst recording on the album. And the song itself isn't that great to begin with anyhow.

There isn't a single song on Heathen Chemistry I would consider "amazing".

SCYHO is a great song. Little by Little, Hindu Times and Songbird are good. The rest I probably won't ever listen to again.

Apologies, but you stated that A Quick Peep is an 'OK Tune'. Impossible. Andy Bell wrote it, meaning it is therefore a fucking abomination. Just your monthy reminder than Bonehead's Barber thinks Andy Bell is a proper bellend

HC was a good singles album (though I don’t love LBL) but not a good filler album (though I love BOADC). To me it was trying to replicate WTSMG, which could never be matched. While the singles actually did a pretty good job of getting them some play into the 2000s and a bit of mainstream resurgence for the band, the filler is just so poor in comparison to WTSMG’s non-singles (I won’t call it filler cause that album was so good, it had no filler).

This'll be unpopular still but I'm glad they did try and replicate that sound because of the 4 singles we got. They reached for the stars again and fell well short but they also created 4 absolute classics. You compare that to now where Noel is making better albums but not one of the songs he makes now will be played as much as those HC singles in 20 years.

Hindu Times used to be one of my favourites, but nowadays I'm just angry that we never got to hear the demo version with Liam singing. Would have been fucking massive.

While a change in direction at the start of the millennium would have been nice, it seemed like it wasn’t in the cards, or when they had the cards they folded them early. I’m also grateful for some of the classics this album churned out.
