I put the weight of the world on Noel's shoulders, I dropped: On that cartoon characters shoulders.

It's an ok song, but kudos to Noel for finally working the f-bomb into one of his tunes instead of reserving them for his interviews. Are "F and C bombs" an American thing? Just curious as I have never been anywhere else in the world where people seem so shocked (genuine or put on I don't know) about those two words

Also: This is how Let There Be Love should have sounded. Noel intentionally kept LTBL stripped down. That was a bad move. It's crying out for a big production like with WPTWOTWOMS. Let There Be Love is many things but stripped down isn't one of them. The 2000 demo is stripped down. The 2005 demo is stripped down. The studio version is over produced and boring. Too slow. DAVE FUCKING SARDY!!!

I was just listening to that yesterday for the first time in a few years. Yeah, it's ok nothing great. The Cast No Shadow remix from that soundtrack is great though. For me, still can't beat the original version of Cast No Shadow. Is it Zak Starkey's drumming on that one? It's a bit too heavy for a light and dreamy song like that - Alan White's jazzy effortless drumming makes the original one soar.

It's not one that I listen to often but I enjoy listening to it.
I'm happy it didn't make it onto an album as, like Whatever and Lord Don't Slow Me Down, it's a song you have to hunt out if you're a fan of the band.

It's Terry Kirkbride IIRC, but yeah, the drums add some groove to the song but are a bit overdone.

I used to like it but not anymore. Yeah, it now feels a bit drab, a bit like Sunday Morning Call.

Great song, easily one of their best post 2000 Oasis. Of course it should have been on DBTT...not that it would have made much difference to an otherwise drab album.

It's noteworthy that this was one of the few songs of the DBTT era that wasn't produced by Sardy (UNKLE took on production duties for this one). And it really fucking shows.

The song always bored me.
Listened to it again, and it still does.

Just a very bad attempt at being Morrissey. Have listened to it less than five times since it was released. Never made me feel anything but depression and boredom. Can't believe anyone likes it. Still wish I could have my money back for the CD.

Now I have packed shoulders.
What gives?

It's also noteworthy that, while this is a decent tune, the fact that it's still generic even with better production really makes me wonder if DBTT would've improved by much if Oasis had George Martin on board. Bottom line is that the source material just wasn't that great.

The only record that Sardy definitely fucked up production wise was Noel's first solo record. Noel needed a fresh sound for a brand new era.

The song always bored me. Listened to it again, and it still does. I'm not a big fan of it either + Noel sounds extremely whiney on it. However, I do think it would've improved DBTT by a tiny bit, which says a lot about the quality of the material that's on it now.

I agree with Probably All In The Mind and Better Man. I don't think you can rate A Quick Peep, it isn't bad. Force Of Nature is questionable (I like it though). Hung In A Bad Place would be loved if it was written by Noel or Liam. I don't get the hate for She Is Love. The Cage is nice. I think you like Don't Believe The Hype more because it was produced by Dave Sardy and he is an American and so are you...

Hindu Times, Little by Little and SCYHO alone pisses all over everything from DBTT. Throw in Songbird too and you can see why HC is a far better record than DBTT, from those songs alone....(and interesting that you removed them from your list above).....

Can't stand it when people say "if Liam or Noel had written this, people would love it!"
No. I've said it a few times before and I'll say it again: if a song is shit, it's shit. No matter who wrote it.
Not everyone is blind.

everyone concerned - keep on wasting your fucking quality time on a song you hate
ever woke up after a blazing night out where you felt like you had it all? and then feel like shit because it's another day and you're lost at feeling/BEING 'normal'?
you just can't say this song is shit because you were so far up your bum you didn't even GET IT at all.
but I will tell you anyway- this is a good song, whatever he's singing about
