The Stone Roses long awaited return vs Liam Gallaghers first post-Oasis song. Beady Eye get a hard time but I reckon they will win this poll.

Wow. I'm actually staggered that Bring The Light is winning this one.

Do we really need this kind of thread again and again? It's boring to compare one to another.

Cheers for stealing my comparison. That's called plagiarism.

Honestly probably Bring The Light. Even quite enjoyed it when I saw them do it in Manchester, with the extended brass outro. And Liam's voice is pretty good.
It's a fair comparison though. Both underwhelming - embarrassing, you might say - first singles with terrible lyrics and repetitive melodies, but, to be fair, also with quite interesting guitar parts in the last minute or so.

I'd rather listen to Bring the Light honestly.

I'd rather listen to Bring the Light honestly. And you HATE Bring The Light... Christ man, I really hope their next album is great now, just for you. It's genuinely quite sad to see someone who's obviously as a big a fan as you are, so disappointed. I haven't even the heart to take the mick out of Brown's vocal...

All For One is not great, but Bring the Light is awful. The music and the vocals don't match at all. BE would've been better off releasing it as an instrumental, but they kept those to themselves (i.e. Yellowtail). All For One shows John Squire still has it.

Never in a million years did I think a BDI song would beat a Roses song in a poll!

when i 1st got the free download of BTL i thought what the fuck is this shit,,then it grew on me,,then i got DGSS listened to the album and thought BTL fit nicely in the tracklist and i eventually liked it,,,all for one is now 24hrs old ive listened to it mayabe 5-6 times and im still on the fence with this song,,22yrs for a new roses tune and they come out with this, imo they could of done better but judging by the comments on Facebook some proper die hard roses fans imo are biggin it up too much,,yeah its catchy,,yeah it sounds like the old days yeah the vocal is ok the lyrics are shit etc,,to me it sounds like oasis meets the seahorses remixed by the roses if this song sets the bar for the 3rd lp then well,,will it be good who the fuck knows

I don't dislike Bring The Light. Thought it sounded pretty good live too. I just didn't think it should be the first thing we heard from Beady Eye. Four Letter Word was tailor made for that arrival.

It would have been the safe choice though. Generic guitar song. Exactly what they had been doing for 12 years. Bring The Light was somethinf different. It wasnt to everyones taste at all but it showed Liam had bottle. More than Noel, more than the Roses and more than Blur weirdly enough.
