just interested to hear what people think of this song almost 3 years later, I was here for the build up to flick being played on bbc radio when it was played by a station in America the week before and the apparent planned build up using the stems over the weekend (released as people tweeted) was made pointless, we gathered on here to hear SBOTA only to get old he wouldn't be playing the song for a further 2 weeks which created more hype for the follow up to flick and we got....
when I first heard it, I hated it but I must say its one of the tracks from the whole of beady eyes catalogue that I like the most, its one of the tracks I enjoyed more in their live sets and was great acoustic.
BE overall was a really good album and its a shame they didn't make it to a 3rd album.

It needs more "Come on, show what you love now!" and less of everything else. The lyrics are ludicrous even considering the authors.
In the video, musically it's fine. Liam sucks bad though.

Wasn't some/most of that performance playback? Definitely sounds like it. Agreed about the "show what you love now" part, it really makes the song - the first chorus still sounds a bit weird to me, it's kinda abrasive, even if it's catchy.

I remember discussing this one recently on here and I'll probably say something similar now, so forgive me for that: It's one of the few Beady Eye songs I still listen to. The chorus is catchy, the "show what you love now" bit is good. I'm also a sucker for a bit of brass and musically it's alright. The lyrics of those verses are god awful though.

There is no way Liam's voice is playback. You can hear him cutting words short throughout.

I have quite a love/hate relationship with Beady Eye. When they first came out i was a proper fan boy and convinced myself i liked them more than i did. Then after BE lost all confidence in them and gave up.
But the last few weeks ive been listening again and i think ive been harsh on Liam.
As for SBOTA, its a great production with just a few of the trademark bad lyrics. The 'yes you're not wrong' bit is amazing from Liam, he sounds brilliant. I think it was a step in the right direction.

Still dislike it. The only part that I can even listen to is the "Come on, show what you love now" part, the rest is awful imo

I find I can best describe my thoughts on this song using bullet points:
- The music in the songs is absolutely awesome, very groovy, especially the intro.
- It contains Liam's worst studio vocal take to date
- The acoustic live session of this song is 1000000x better than the studio version (Liam's vocals were much better)
- It was a god awful choice for a first proper single from the album
That's pretty much how I'd sum it up

Still shit. Almost Unlistenable. I cringe at the thought of them deciding to play this song, above all others on the album at that one very public appearance (Was it Britain's Got Talent?).

I understand and respect that Liam wanted a more "honest" vocal on this album but I dont think it was the very best he could do as following performances on oui fm etc proved. he sounds much stronger on the extra tracks than he does on songs like SBOTA and soon come tomorrow.

The only song on that album I ever have any desire to listen to. Still get it stuck in my head sometimes, I like it.

Hated it then and still hate it now, and I'm a big fan of Beady Eye! Sounds like some shite Robbie Williams would come out with to me.

I listen to it from time to time, but definitely not in the BE tracklisting i made for myself. The chorus is pretty good but the verse are embarassing. The production is great so that make up for it.
Gem songs are weird.

I love it. Maybe I'm a Liam fanboy but I like most of the Beady Eye's songs.
This version is amazing btw:

Honestly, one of the greatest things they ever did. Groovy, sexy, and catchy, even if some of the lyrics are sub-par.

I agree. To me the song has always felt undercooked. There are lots of good things going on sound-wise in the song but like you said, its faults are very noticeable.

Love it. Listened to the BE album this morning in my car driving to work. FLick / Soul Love / Second Bite / I'm Just Saying / Start Anew are all great. Loving those extra tracks as well! Off at the wrong exit & Girls in Uniform.
They deserved more recognition with BE.

BDI could have made an honest career, building a new fan base year after year but Liam gave up too easily
BE was a good record and better than most thing released in 2013, shame they stopped, they were slowly getting their own sound.
