I really can't stand this track. It's just so boring. I liked it first but know I (especially live) can't listen to it anymore. Maybe because Noel can't hit the high notes anymore. I liked that jazzy acoustic version though.
What do you think of this song?

I like the acoustic version he played later last year. A bit more jazzy. The album version is not my cup of tea. Sounds good live, though.

Oh I don't think so. I think its one of Noel's biggest successes since going solo, and certainly a very different song than what he's known for writing.
Listen to this though. Not saying it's a ripoff but I think there's something to be said for similarity...

It is one of his biggest success, but I don't like it.

Paul McCartney - Nineteen Hundred and eighty Five Some similarities, but what's cool about the song is that you can hear some of Noel's 90s dance influences, specifically from his Hacienda days, with the piano & drum loops mixed in with the guitars. It's a nice mix, too. He did a good job to make an "in-house" dance song, with a bit of a Macca influence too.

His best solo tune to be honest.

Why the fuck would you make a thread about a song you hate?
Anyway, how is this overrated? It's probably Noel's most succesful solo single and it's a good song. I haven't heard anyone describe it as a masterpiece or something.
I'm not a great fan of the live version for some reason, and that's not because "Noel can't hit the high notes", as we know he can, as he does it on other songs.

"I'm gonna take that tiger outside for a ride"
Cheeky, but a great line.

I loved it a first listen. I remember when we got the clip from the Vauxhall advert in September 2011 and the whole song a few days later, exciting days! I still think it's among the best songs from his solo career so far: probably not his absolute best, but it's quite close to the top... it needed a guitar solo before the last chorus though. Live performances of it may look a bit flat but at both gigs I went last year people got mad and jumped and screamed every lyric. As usual, when you're actually there it's a different thing but I agree that he could spice it up a little bit. "BHN era Noel" would have made a 10 minutes long version of it with a big solo in the middle. "HFB era Noel" does his psychedelic thingie by rubbing his guitar against the mic stand with tons of delay and reverb, which is pretty cool

It's an excellent song. And is extremely well received live, got a bigger response than a couple of the Oasis tracks at Glasgow Hydro last week

Noel trying to sound different, I like it. But I gotta admit i was a bit put off at first, but it really is a solid tune... But not live. He doesnt really have the strong voice needed to pull it off live i think.
Noel tried to do a copy paste of it with Mighty I and failed, miserably.

I remember hearing it for the first time and being underwhelmed. It soon grew on me though and I'd rate it as a strong 8/10. Nothing exceptional but I can see why casual fans really like it.

Yes, for me. That one and Ballad of the Might I. Both are considerated as the best Noel's tunes since the split, but I think tunes like Alone On The Rope, Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks or The Right Stuff show a better and more interesting side of Noel's recent songwriting.

I can't get into Noel's solo stuff. I'm not sure if it's the modern sound or what but many of his songs are quite boring. Lock All the Doors is probably my favourite song from him. It has more energy compared to his other songs. Dream On is also very good.
AKA... What A Life is a decent song but definitely not his best.
E: But well, his solo stuff beats most of the modern crap so I'm not really complaining.

IMO it is easily the most overrated NGHFB tune to date.

It's awful. Advert music. The damp squib of a chorus ruins the entire song.

Noel tried to do a copy paste of it with Mighty I and failed, miserably. It's a super dull song. Like, mega dull made for the radio and iPhone (Accidental) Hipster people. Noel should be ashamed of this. Especially the production. Hello David Guetta.

never liked it up until last year, probably one of my favourite HFB tracks now, the only live version I feel did it justice was the brits version with chris martin, the production is abit bland and I think the piano would've been great on the album version at the end.
