I would say:
Stereophonics Travis Kasabian Jet Arctic Monkees
The funny thing is that these bands are the most succesful of our generation. Well, Stereophonics are as talented as Oasis and it is one of the few that Oasis respect the most. To me, they are as good as Oasis. What do you think?

Coldplay U2 Foo Fighters (did a lyla-cover) Maroon 5 (covered dlbia, hello) metallica (lars ulrich and kirk hammet) Killers Darkness
A lots of bands during their heyday in mid 90s like Smashing Pumpkins, red hot chili peppers, metallica, manic street preachers, green day, (once said oasis is the second best band in the world)...

aren't they pals with Weezer too? i remember there was a photo of Liam and Gem with Rivers Cuomo and a few of the guys all hanging out in France during the DBTT tour and Weezer's tour.
oh and also, if you've heard of that new band OneRepublic, I read that they are big Oasis fans and cite them as one of their main influences.

There was a quote about kiedis, and maybe some of the rhcp being dissapointed about oasis song quality during the time of BHN and SOTSOG. So thats where i picked it up. Even if he was not interested in the Oasis fad he still could have respected them... whatever. There was a quote from Bryan Adams about liking their more rockier stuff. Puff Daddy had said rocknrollstar was one of the greatest rock songs he had ever heard. LOL Tupac had said that oasis represented "thug life" (which tupac himself represented and talked about it in his lyrics) - which basically came from their lad attitude and fookin having it. I think there were some quote even from dr. dre.

oh and Noel Gallagher once mentioned in an interview how Marilyn Manson had come to talk to him during a concert they were both seeing, and telling him that he liked "Be Here Now" very much. Noel thought he was going to be beheaded , LOL.

I heard somewhere that Tom Petty liked them. Not sure if I believe it though.

oh and i just remembered.
Neil Young himself respects oasis, though, neil young is not a band.
Noel came to know this when oasis was warming up for neil young in canada in the beginning of this century.

i think there's a kinship between bands that don't completely suck and have made their own stamp on rock 'n roll
even across the rock spectrum...
Tom Petty, Neil Young, Joe Strummer and The Clash, Johnny Cash, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, they're all friends
and more recently Oasis, Ryan Adams, White Stripes, Foo Fighters, Rivers Cuomo and Weezer (great songwriter, that Rivers)
they all make up the upper echelon rock fraternity, not everyone is invited

i think there's a kinship between bands that don't completely suck and have made their own stamp on rock 'n roll yeah, that "stamp on rocknroll" is a good definition. When you do something that cannot be denied in music you become one of the big boys. You have deserved it and showed that you actually do "get it". There was an interview of Chris Martin (coldplay) saying after he´d wrote "a rush of blood to the head" he wasnt no more feeling inferior walking up to some of his heros like bono or noel gallagher. He felt like he had achieved certain level of mastery in songwriting.

Limp Bizkit (there's that picture of Fred Durst asking Noel for an autograph) The Killers Kaiser Chiefs not sure about kaiser chiefs i remember words from both camps Nah, the singer, Ricky or something, said he was "chuffed to bits" to be insulted by Oasis. I suppose we can add the members of the now dissolved The Stone Roses? And The Verve and Primal Scream. Maybe Morrisey and/or Johnny Marr? I know Marr played on HC.

I like a few of their tunes though.

www.oasis-ultimate.com, an old fan site not up anymore had a whole section of celebrity thoughts on oasis. Look it up in an internet archive. All kinds of original stuff put together. That Tupac quote is 100% accurate by my recolection! hahaha

not sure about kaiser chiefs i remember words from both camps there was a picture on nme where that ricky was in front row of an oasis show with the definitely maybe blue t-shirt, wasn't him? was that picture taken before he was famous or even in a band? Like i said i was not sure, i remember Liam calling them ponces while doing an interview with Q Magazine and Importance said in a previous post to yours that they were happy with that. Noel Gallagher has described the contributions of the Kaiser Chiefs to a Beatles, ‘Sgt Pepper’ tribute programme as “embarrassing.” what can yer say when the band you loved growing up think your a bit shit. It would piss me off, i bet secretly there fuming i wonder if they still respect them as much now? They reckon they are a better band than oasis anyway www.contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mndwebpages/kaiser%20chiefs%20were%20better%20than%20oasis_09_02_2006
