Well, it is still better to have DGSS 2 than this The man who wrote So It Goes and History. ...may he rest in peace.

Hey, I like Hold On. It's easily the best tune Chris Martin has written in years.

all I would say to Liam at this point is dont big yourself up, release whatever it is you might be working on and let it speak for itself, making bold statements like he did with beady eye just to release something that isnt that new or special in any particular way give your critics something to use against you.
stick to the "Im just making music, people can like it or dislike" not "ah yea bigger than oasis innit, Noel will be crying and asking to join in 6 months"
chill.

Don't know if you understood my response: I'm saying he's the man that wrote some of the best and heartwrenching tracks of the 90s, but puts out MOR cheesefests such as Hold On. Still, the song is a trillion times better than anything on Ghost Stories and A Head Full of Sh*t.

Id have to disagree I think, theres a handful of songs on those 2 albums Id put ahead of hold on, I dont think ashcroft can do through and through happier songs tbh, its like born again, it feels forced even if the song is half decent like hold on, its just not his bag, I much prefer ashcroft on songs like "aint the future so bright" that mixes happier vibes with some darker elements, its what hes good at.

Noel learned that lesson somewhere along the way. He did the whole "it's the best Oasis album since Definitely Maybe!" thing for a while (at least until HC), but when HFB was released, he was pretty modest about it. No big comparisons, he just said he liked the album and was proud of it. It was still successfull because Noel Gallagher is a big name, and because it was good. Liam definitely doesn't need big headlines for his new album because his return alone will spark loads of interest, and he has his name to show this time around. I believe he's just saying things like this because that's who he is, but it seems rather stupid.

Don't know if you understood my response: Yeah, I didn't, sorry. For me, bigger problem is this video than song Wonder what Liam thinks about it. If we know that he is always talking about keeping it real, rock and roll, not selling out, fuck modern music...I guess that he talked with Richard about it and if he was honest, he was in situation to hurt his friend. And if he lied and said that it was great and the video is also great than he is two faced vagina.

Yeah his comment that DGSS was better than Definitely Maybe did not help the bands cause. Seemed comical.

All I think is Liam should learn to walk the walk before trying to talk the talk, it is certainly comical that he stated the words "beady eye will be bigger than oasis" and Noel "will be crawling back very fucking soon" yet fast forward a couple of years and Liams stood at T in the park telling the crowd that they "can go back to sleep now" because they were only reacting to songs written by said Noel gallagher. at least when oasis were referencing the beatles they were actually in a position to say that stuff, you cant say "we will be be bigger than oasis" and then release bring the light as your first single, come on Liam mah lad, you put that up against supersonic you lose that one 10 times out of 10. Liam will probably say something abit outlandish because hes Liam Gallagher but theres some good lessons to be learnt from beady eyes run.

Havent heard this before, but I'm guessing its the last good song they've done? Up&Up is a pretty good song (well...live), and a few others from the Ghost Stories era were too (Atlas / Ghost Story / Magic / All Your Friends / O) but this song is the dying breath of their creativity - the last time they tried to push themselves. It's certainly better than Hold On IMO.

Imagine Liam gets "Oasis" back together. Bonehead, Alan, maybe Guigs and just does a Be Here Now tour. He knows Noel hates the album, so he goes out and tours it sadly I think he no longer has the voice to perform many of the tunes, even in a lower key without sounding akward. Specially dont go away and around the world. Agree. Even the excuse that he 'could sing in a lower key' is desperate. Tuning songs down to a lower key would drag them through the mud and would seem insipid compared to the euphoria of the originals.
