Does anyone know if the 2-disc set will also be released in the US? If not, can I order a 2-disc copy that will work on my DVD player over here?

nov 6th...i'm cancelling my on-line orber btw- the disc will almost certinly be in PAL format, not NTSC which is the north american standard. ALthough some new players will play multiple formats, machines like the ps2 and older dvd players will NOT.
there goes my free sticker.

Will the 2 disc set be available in the US though? I know on Amazon that it's listed as only one disc with a 60 minute run time for example. Other sites (like Best Buy or Target) don't have any info about it, but the prices vary from $16.99 to about $23, so I'm confused as to what is really being released here in the States.

Why not just order the Canadian one? We are getting the option double disc and the single disc (from what I can see from HMV) and then you wouldn't have to worry about different formats.

I've never known Oasis to release a PAL-format DVD in the US in my experience...I assure you that it will be the same in every country. If they didn't have the patience to give the full Manchester show and instead used the live broadcast, what makes anyone think that they'd spend any amount of time editing down the DVDs for a shorter release in the US?

Canada and the USA is Region 1 NTSC, the UK is Region 2 PAL. If you order the 2 disc version from Canada it will play just fine, and if it's available in Canada in 2 disc is will almost certainly be available in the USA in the 2 disc version. I am of the mind to think all the talk about different versions is off too, the DM DVD release a couple years ago was available in the 2 disc version and wouldn't sales be improved by including it?

Most newer TV's are multi-sync and many dvd players can play both as well. And btw have you seen the sticker? It's the dog with the bug eyes and the logo below it, looks stupid IMO. Maybe I'll sell you the sticker out of the copy I buy for $5!

That DVD was handled by Sony/Columbia, not the mish-mash of support that LDSMD is getting. It's awfully close to release date for all of the major sale outlets here in the US to be getting the wrong information. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I'm going to play it safe and take the earlier post's advice to order from Canada. Also, as far as editing down the documentary itself from 90 minutes to 60 minutes, they don't have to do any new editing at all. They'd just use one of the versions that made the rounds earlier this year.

Quick question; Is there any diff. between the US and UK versions, besides the regions? I bootlegged my cheap ass DVD player to play all the regions, so thats not an issue.

Yes, according to Amazon we're getting the shit version, no extra disc, nada.... but NO ONE KNOWS! its being released on something called "Hip-O records" a label famous for re releasing blues and oldies records.... in Canada its Interscope... It looks like we won't know until we haul butt to Best Buy Nov. 6th (after we vote of course) and buy it. I think I am going to order the UK one and go buy the US one... it won't be the first Oasis release I have multiple copies of!

Of course it'll be the full 2 disc set, and of course it'll be NTSC. I thought it came out today, so was let down when I found out I have to wait another week. On another note, you can buy region free DVD players for inexpensive prices... I got a really good Pioneer for about $100 which allows me to watch all the Oasis DVD singles and all the amazing UK music DVDs not available here in the US. www.regionfreedvd.net/

What do you mean bootlegged, jilliam? Did you make an alteration? Hhow? I did a google search for my dvd player "How to change the region on my cyberhome dvd player" and vualah, it is now region FREE. I always order the UK version of dvds, some have more extras than the lame ass US versions. WHich is what Im going to do with this new DVD.

Just to put to bed all these false notions that they'd unnecessarily release a shorter version in the US than that in the UK: www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8554138&productCategoryId=cat02084&type=product&tab=2&id=1763636#productdetailEveryone feel better? The details show the track listing and full time for each disc...Next time, let's not jump to conclusions... I can hear it now... Noel: Hey I've got an idea! Let's not include the second disc and make a short edit of the documentary and screw over our US fans who came out in record numbers on the last tour! Let's make them import UK versions to the US! Rest of band (in unison): SOUNDS GREAT!! More likely than not, a release date was announced and a press release/epk hadn't yet been put together w/ more details on LDSMD until recently...SO the major websites simply listed the 60 minute length for whatever reason.

Glad the region 1 is gonna be the same as the rest, and like I said in the beginning it would be stupid otherwise!

I went to Best Buy & Target....no where to be found. Decided to call my indpendent record shop I have been going to for 15 years plus. Called them......and they said...'yeah we have it'. 2 Copies totally on display with their own hand written description underneath. Love 'Vinyl Fever'....... only think there is 2 or 3 locations in all of U.S. ) Plus it was only $18 for the double disc!!
