Arctic Monkeys are far better on record, I'd say all of their albums are better than Kasabians. However, Kasabian are the better live band. Arctic Monkeys for me.

I've never liked the sound of the AM. Kasabian were more anxious about their musical idea when they started out. But I think I lost my faith in their music. They are about to become the epitome of a pretentious 70's glam rock band in the year 2016.

kasabian, alex turner needs to wind that grease shit in, hes dragging that band down imo, people say hes becoming a "unique frontman" but im not seeing it.

Neither are that enjoyable but the Monkeys have some decent ones.

Kasabian. Based on what they do live, they are simply incredible and I would recommend anyone to go and see them even if you're not a fan

Arctic Monkeys, without a doubt.
While I enjoy Kasabian very much, and while they may be far more energetic and engaging in the live setting, their songs are lightyears behind those of the Monkeys - musically, lyrically, you name it.
The pinnacle for me is the Humbug era, where they surely hit the peak of their creativity. The quality even of the b-sides is more than a match for many Kasabian tunes - the My Propeller EP being a personal favourite.

A couple of years ago I'd have 100% gone with Kasabian, hands down. However now I lean Monkeys. Kasabian to me is in some serious cliche mode.

Both are really overrated...but if forced to choose I'd go with Arctic Monkeys. I remember listening to AM's debut a lot back when I had a crush on a girl who was really into them...but even then I didn't think they were that great.

For me, Kasabian, of course. I love them. And they were the ones that brought me to Oasis!
What I have heard so far from the Arctic Monkeys is nice, but I was not yet motivated to delve into them further. Maybe one day.

I like Kasabian a lot and have watched quite a few live thingies, and it always looks and sounds great. Never seen them in the flesh. Live wise I'm sure I'd prefer them. I HAVE seen Arctic Monkeys and that wasn't very great.
Music wise I prefer Arctic Monkeys, though I like Kasabian a lot too. It's just that I have more of Arctic Monkey's material on my devices and happen to listen a bit more to them.

agree alot with scott1, kasabian are a fantastic live band but theyre a bit one trick pony for my liking, musically i think arctic monkeys are far superior, really do think people underestimate alex turner as a songwriter, hes a bit of a wanker yeah but cmon the guy can write a song

I feel same as Lennon2217. I used to love both bands. I've followed Kasabian since 2004 and have seen them live 9 times in 3 countries. I've seen Arctic Monkeys 4 times. These days Kasabian bores me, so for music wise, I'm more curious what Arctic Monkeys will bring us next, but then again, Alex Turner trying to act like a "big boy" annoys me. I'm really loving and enjoying other bands who are not in the frot page of NME.

Arctic Monkeys by quite a bit but I really like both. Kasabian have a lot of great songs but they also have a LOT of total shite. Kasabian are far better live though.

Constantly putting wax in his hair, shaking his hips (not that he has much hip), acting "cool". Just be yourself, man.

For all Turner's cringeworthy behaviour, he's not half as bad as the Gallagher tribute acts that are Tom Meighan and Serge. They lack any of the wit and talent of the Gallagher and all the bravado and arrogance merely comes off as distasteful and charmless. Kasabian's first album is good, just a shame they never lived up to potential because all the other albums are just woeful, barring some killer tunes (Empire, Underdog, Lets Roll, etc). Chris Karloff must have had a big say in the music, because Serge can't write a tune or melody anymore and his voice is as piss weak as Dot Cotton after drinking a can of paint stripper. Tom Meighan's voice is terrible too, and is just boorish lacking any character.
I'm a big fan of the Arctic Monkeys - they still make brilliant albums, perhaps not with the same originality as when they were kids basically singing about the everyday goings on in a northern industrial town, but I can't expect Turner to write songs about Sheffield now he's a multi millionaire. The amalgamation of influences on AM really make that album shine for me, for me it is their best since the debut. Technically however, they've really come on and their vocals and instrument playing have an added sophistication. They've grown up in fairness to them and they're not a band that attempts to recreate past glories so full credit to them.

Suck and see is no good at all?
I love Suck it and See, it pisses all over anything Kasabian have done, album wise.
Arctic Monkeys are far superior, by a long long way.

They were very close until 2011. Great first three albums for both bands. But Monkeys won the battle with albums for 4 and 5.
