If you're into Verve I suggest you to check out Black Submarine, the band lead by two ex members, guitar genius Nick McCabe and drummer bassist Simon Jones. They released an album in 2014 which has some pretty good moments. Fixed I still have to check them out. Whoops You should definitely check them out, I think they've uploaded the whole album on YouTube too. Obviously very different from Verve... some songs feel like they lack something in the songwriting area but about 5-6 of them are really (and I mean really) good.

He waits for her to understand, But she won't understand at all. She waits all night for him to call, But he won't call anymore. He waits for her to say "forgive", But she just drops her pear-black eyes And prays to hear him say, "I love you", But he tells no more lies... -Robert Smith

How does Lee Mavers make money? One album from 30 years ago can't be paying the bills. He is a robber now, he went to a person and says: Give me some money 'Cos I'm right in a hurry To get a way out of this But I'm telling you this That I don't aim to miss To get a way out of this... Give it all you got now Give it all you got now - Yeah give a little It must be gigs I guess, he does a show here and there once in a while.

Could Unit 4+2 have been the successors of The Beatles had they relied on more than just Concrete and Clay?

Love the stripped naked (ie accoustic) version of Blind Guardian's Bright Eyes which makes better sense than the metal version. One thing, why is Hansi singing demo lyrics as well?

Just watched the David Bowie tribute at the Brit Awards. Although Lorde isn't a fantastic singer (but Bowie wasn't exactly a trained opera singer either.), it sounded so much better, and just was so much better than Gaga's tribute at The Grammy's. It was just TOO much. Of course David Bowie wasn't really about the less is more kind of approach, but that was just hysterical.

Man the album version of Who's Gonna Run Your Wild Horses is perfect. Has that air of mystery with that giant wall of reverb, "and when you turn around...and don't look back", crazy to think U2 used to be this good!

The lyrics are a bit shit (albeit complete fun), but "Discotheque" is a tune.
As a whole, Pop is a really good album. There's only one weak track on it, imo, but even with it there, it is still U2 at their finest experimentally. I'll probably write a whole track-by-track review or something, if anyone's curious, but that's just my two cents for the day.

What do you guys think is the best band of this decade thus far? So far gas to be Tame Impala with the EP,Innerspeaker, Lonerism and Currents I don't think there has been a band with such great material. And we're only halfway trough it so it is a bit early to say.

I used to be not very fond of Catching the Butterfly, but after listening to it again today, it is a fucking ethereal, haunting, and doom-laden acid trip. Now I imagine I'm navigating through the dark maze of an Egyptian tomb whenever I'm listening to this song.
