Blackstar might be up there with the best things Bowie has ever done. Probably fit into my top 30, maybe even top 20.

My favourite Kinks songs would have to be Set me Free, This Time Tomorrow, and of course Waterloo Sunset.

Any Strypes fans here? I know Blue Collar Jane and Eighty-Four and I like them a lot so I decided to check their Snapshot album. Sounds good so far.
E: What the fuck? They released their first album in 2013 and the singer is even younger than me! (well, we're both 19 now)
I mean seriously. He was 15 years old when they recorded that album. Fookin' hell.

Superb song. My Kinks top 5 would be (in no order) Waterloo Sunset Village Green Sunny Afternoon Days Strangers

Always been impressed by these guys. A lot of bands have the energy of youth, these guys have the chops to go with it. Don't miss the second album - Little Victories.

Frank Black's Teenager of the Year is such a weird fucking record. Still trying to wrap my head around it all. Where...?! Where was your mind Frank?? And I don't mean that in a negative way... I just have so many questions.

Beady’s Here Now , you need to listen to this song. Broaden your musicial horizons please, and this is a perfect song to do so.

Saw this lot supporting Feeder last night. Love them already! They tore the place up. Just a massive shame the venue wasn't really into it or moving much, but the £4.50 drinks and tiny bar area could have had something to do with that...Day after a gig and I'm not hanging in the slightest Fucking student venues

I've really gotten into Joy Division, because Morrissey is too uplifting Seriously, I listend a lot to Unknown Pleasures and it's quite magical.

I know a little about Silverchair, mainly their hits and the album Diorama, but it's quit stunning that a 15 years old boy wrote something like Tomorrow, they were only at this age at the time of their debut.
Then after that they were one of, if not the only, grunge bands that evolved from grunge to do something different, they went orchestral music with Diorama which is a good album btw.
Pearl Jam would never do something like Luv Your Life, instead they keep releasing the same album since 1991.

It's heavy (subject matter and sound) as anything.

Just put "There She Goes". Father's reaction "it sounds like a boy band".
I give up...

Ask him how many 'girls' he has ever heard boy bands sing about "there she blows again/pulsing through my vein" and see if he gets it Reminds me of ex-Dead Kennedys front man Jello Biafra on the subject of punk (tagging mimmihopps due to our exchanges on the subject )
