Anybody here like/know the Sundays? Discovered them on accident a few days back and they sound brillant, like a slightly happier Smiths with a female vocalist...I definitely wanna get their albums from the sound of it.

Bruce Foxton is my favourite bassist. Incredible playing that really did as much to define the sound of the Jam as anything else. It's just so much fun to watch him too as he bounces around his bass guitar.

Foxton's bass work gave some kind of spice to the band, even if it's only for the intro from Pretty Green.

That's essentially what they set out to sound like Start with 'Reading, Writing & Arithmetic' their 1990 debut is my advice The follow up 'Blind' is nearly as good IMO and although Harriet and Dave having kids delayed their return 'Static & Silence' their final album still had the band's biggest UK hit

Much better than another Swedish band, they know who they are. Enjoying The Storm within.

I was listening to Elliott Smith's this evening, but couldn't get past 20 minutes. It's one of the rare artists I like that I can't listen regularly to. He's a great melodist but his music can be so depressing sometimes.

Village Green Preservation Society, Waterloo Sunset and Celluloid Heroes every time from a stellar catalogue. I brought a box set called 'Picture Book' years ago that had pretty much everything on it
