I still don't know this forum's aversion to The Hold Steady.Clever as fuck band, amazing lyricist, and standard rock n' roll. If THS were British, the forum would be totally on them. Lennon2217, where are ya?

Lennon2217, where are ya? Isn't that Harry Potter's favorite band? No wonder why you like them. I'm still trying to figure out why only 3-5 people on this forum listen to The National.

Lennon & Clapton playing 'Money' in 1969. Lovin' the looseness unrehearsed feel of it.

Lennon & Clapton playing 'Money' in 1969. Lovin' the looseness unrehearsed feel of it. I've seen this as used vinyl several times over the years. I should have bought it. Not sure why I haven't. Might be a result of the terrible reviews of the Yoko songs.

Going to listen to the new Biffy Clyro album - Ellipsis - now.
I'v been unimpressed with the singles heading into the release, so my expectations are low.

Stereophonics at Edinburgh Castle was cracking last night although some of the slower tunes are very "Tesco Mums" middle of the road but the heavier, older songs were great.
Traffic performed just acoustic with Kelly and backed with violins was cool.

Off topic, I've been to Edinburgh Castle once with the boy I was in love with. Sweet memory of mine.

I love Made of Stone.
Melodically speaking, it's genius, but the sinister vibes are what the song thrives on and gives the song a needed punch. Everything about it is brilliant and it's absolutely one of the top five best songs that The Stone Roses did imo.

What an awful album In Through The Out Door. I love Led Zeppelin but that album is horrible.

I prefer Lennon's early 60s rock n roll voice above his 1975 rock n roll album voice:

At least Liam Gallagher hasn't done the dreaded 'celebrity' advert yet, despite the hoax a few years ago that he was going to do a 'Pepsi as a mixer' advert with Charlotte Church- Hoaxes.org- Liam Gallagher & Charlotte Church Here's 1970's chart botherer Noddy Holder hawking Young's/Harry Ramsden's frozen chip shop grub, as apparently his half of an average £512,000 a year for Merry Xmas Everyone simply doesn't meet the bills And talking of Pepsi a song specifically written for a Pepsi promotion that was meant to be played on radio stations across North America, but ended up on only twenty five in Canada in 1988, for which Noddy was brought in to sing the lead vocal. The song was not made commercially available for the general public. IT wasn't written by Noddy but North American rules on specifically written for advertising songs means the writers are obscured, and so avoid the 'credit' for the lyrics:-

It's been years since I last saw one of those...mainly because I haven't watched TV, at least not recorded on a DVR in quite a while. I'm kind of thankful for that, I don't have to listen to the painful kidz bop infomercials anymore.
