First album Hansi has ever said fucking on. And you sir are Hansi fucking Kursch.
A step away from metal but it worked.
Also thanks Hansi for being the one to turn me into a Morgoth fan girl.

Is it me or is this a tribute to Noddy Holder in Blind Guardian's Merry Xmas everybody? Look at Hansi's pants.

It really bothers me when I go to a gig, the music is synth driven and there's not a keyboard player in sight so they use backing tracks. I've seen this various times now and it really takes away from the live experience.
At this particular gig the bass player played a bit on a little synth that happened to be there, but you still heard the bass too, which made me wonder how much of it is actually live? Or was I just watching a glorified karaoke show?
Just let the synths out, or, if they are an important piece of the music, HIRE A FECKING KEYBOARD PLAYER!

They probably don't have the money to hire anyone, if they're a small band.

Sometimes the player plays a section and loops it when moving onto a different part, a bit like what Ed Sheeran does. If this is the case, that's fine but if it is basically a pre-recorded track playing then its a big no no.

I've seen Ed Sheeran once at a festival and even though I think his music is super generic and boring, I was really impressed with that whole one-man-band-looping-schtick!

I think it's such a shame and it's really just fooling your audience in a way.

Listened to Screaming Trees live in Worcester supporting Oasis from 1996. Great recording. All I Know, Dying Days and Nearly Lost You were awesome standouts.
Criminally underrated band. Always will recommend.

For Verve fans on here: isolated the guitars from the Haigh Hall performance of Neon Wilderness & Weeping Willow, then remixed it. A McCabe masterclass.

I'm gonna put my top 10 songs for 5 year intervals on here just for a bit of fun. Doing a whole decade is a bit much in one sitting. All the songs are in no particular order. Lots of big hits I'm sure everyone will know. The Beatles and Stones feature in every year and Hendrix in 3.

1966 Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) - Nancy Sinatra [Cher cover] For What It's Worth - Buffalo Springfield Gimme Some Lovin' - The Spencer Davis Group God Only Knows - The Beach Boys I'm a Believer - The Monkees [Neil Diamond cover*] Land of a 1000 Dances - Wilson Pickett Paint It Black - The Rolling Stones Stone Free - Jimi Hendrix Summer In the City - The Lovin' Spoonful Tomorrow Never Knows - The Beatles
1967 Dance to the Music - Sly & the Family Stone Fire - Jimi Hendrix Girl, You'll be a Woman Soon - Neil Diamond Heroes & Villains - The Beach Boys I'm a Man - The Spencer Davis Group Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles She's a Rainbow - The Rolling Stones Somebody to Love - Jefferson Airplane [The Great Society cover] Sunshine of Your Love - Cream Venus In Furs - The Velvet Underground
1968 Back In the U.S.S.R. - The Beatles Born to be Wild - Steppenwolf Crosstown Traffic - Jimi Hendrix The Gift - The Velvet Underground Going Up the Country - Canned Heat [Henry Thomas cover*] Hush - Deep Purple [Billy Joe Royal cover] Nothing But a Heartache - The Flirtations Pictures of Matchstick Men - Status Quo Send Me a Postcard - Shocking Blue Sympathy for the Devil - The Rolling Stones
1969 Fortunate Son - Creedence Clearwater Revival Here Comes the Sun - The Beatles Gimme Shelter - The Rolling Stones I'm Alive - Don Fardon I Wanna Be Your Dog - The Stooges I Want You Back - The Jackson 5 Little Green Bag - George Baker Selection Ramble On - Led Zeppelin Space Cowboy - Steve Miller Band Space Oddity - David Bowie
* Ok it's a little more complicated than that but you know what I mean

Coachella isn't Rock Festival anymore. It hasn't been for a long time, but Blur did that warmup show and a Fan did sang with them on the stage for Parklife, so they enjoyed with the kind of followers that would go see them and had a pretty paycheck for one meh gig, perhaps the one next week will be better with less social media guys there.

I remember seeing something for Paul Weller doing a US tour but I didn’t know he’d be playing a proper tour!
Playing at First Avenue on September 16th. I think I need to go to that!
