A tough one. As you said, Neil never (or very rarely) writes shite songs. A Lady of A Certain Age is definitely my favourite song from. A truly beautiful song, one of the best of the last 10 years, along Archie, Marry Me by Alvvays (imo, of course). I wish Noel could write songs as good nowadays. 1. A Lady of a Certain Age 2. The Dogs and The Horses 3. A Woman of the World 4. A Mutual Friend 5. Down In The Street Below 6. Something for the Weekend 7. If... 8. Generation Sex 9. Perfect Lovesong 10. Tonight We Fly And I certainly forgot many... By the way, have you heard of the band Alvvays ? Heard of them, yes, but can't say I know of any of the their records. Could you do us an introductory playlist, then I can give em a listen on Spotify? They only have one record at the moment, their self titled debut from 2014. If there's really one song you have to listen from them, it's "Archie, Marry Me". The rest is very good, more than worth a listen but that song really stands out.

The Joshua Tree has to be one of the greatest albums ever made, and really truly is U2's masterpiece.
The opening three, specifically, are incredible. I've never heard an album start out with such an amazing opening like that, and it's stunning how, even when you're at track eight or nine, it feels like you just started listening to the album a few minutes before.
Trip Through Your Wires is about the only weak song that sticks out, but aside from it, every song is a beautiful piece of art that represents a band at their peak with an amazing producer guiding them along the way. Everyone does a wonderful job on each of the songs, and you can hear Eno's little touches added in throughout the album to make it all complete.

The Chemical Brothers collaborations with Noel were great, but their one collaboration with Richard Ashcroft was great too.

Are you talking about Minus Blue? I have it. I like Dolphin and Anamorphosis, but I don't remember much about the rest. I haven't listened to it in years...

That bassguitar of Adam Clayton, Bono looks cool, The Edges guitar. Great song! A remake of Adam Clayton's famous bass guitar explaining about Adam's equipment as well The original Popmart boomerang bass was built by Jerry Auerswald, a highly respected builder who at some point I hope to convince myself to spend the money at to have him build me a custom bass- Jerry Auerswald

Anyone else as excited for those Verve reissues as much as I am? Let's break down what they will probably contain: ASIH: Disc 1: original album Disc 2: 1. All in the Mind 2. One Way to Go 3. A Man Called Sun 4. She's a Superstar 5. Feel 6. Gravity Grave 7. Endless Life 8. A Man Called Sun (live) 9. Gravity Grave (live encore) 10 - 15. Voyager 1 EP Disc 3: No Come Down compilation album, plus Virtual World (acoustic) Disc 4: Maybe the Wigan demos in better quality, or anything we haven't heard before. I suppose there's a studio version of South Pacific floating around? Maybe another song we haven't heard of, or studio outtakes? They must have hours and hours of jams, so there must be some amazing bits in there that can be released. I'd be cool if they released a bunch of long jam excerpts à la The Thaw Session and made that Disc 4. There are few things from this era that weren't magical. ANS: Disc 1: original album Disc 2: 1. Let the Damage Begin 2. You and Me 3. I See the Door 4. Little Gem 5. Dance on Your Bones 6. Back on My Feet Again 7. On Your Own (acoustic) 8. Monkey Magic 9. Grey Skies 10. Life's Not a Rehearsal 11. Country Song (ANS version, as the BSS b-side was recorded during the ANS sessions but later received overdubs) Disc 3: Unreleased songs like Change My Life and Black and Blue? Early versions of The Mover, Come On, and The Rolling People? Jam excerpts? Rough mixes? Obviously there must be a UH reissue also in the works, and the UH demos are a must. Even a Forth reissue would be top, there's an unreleased song called Mona Lisa, a "psychedelic" version of Rather Be, and a proper release for The Mover and Blue Pacific Ocean to be had! Suddenly the BHN reissue doesn't seem so exciting. Update for any interested Verve fans: -There is a studio version of South Pacific, but it's reportedly quite different from the live version we know and love. -Cannabis Creek is the name of an ASIH outtake, apparently it was this one and not Butterfly that was based around a Steely Dan sample. Hope that doesn't prevent it from being released! -All Ways Are Maybes is the name of a UH outtake that late Verve manager Jazz Summers called single-worthy. I think Nick also mentioned that it was the best track from that era that was never released. -Other UH-era titles known are Go Your Way, Music, Birds Fly to Warmer Climates, which appeared on a demo tape called "Top Secret Demos Sept 96" Most likely Richard tunes. Hope the songs are better than the titles. -Alone with Everybody track Brave New World wss apparently demoed with The Verve (though the "demo" uploaded to YouTube sounds fake to me), presumably during the UH sessions. -Mona Lisa, a Forth outtake, allegedly sounds a lot like Slade's Cum On Feel the Noize and (in the words of Nick McCabe) has a verse about Richard's dog, wtf?

No problem. I've actualy trademarked the term "Yeah Yeah Yeah"™ so every time someone uses it I get royalties. Made £2.50 so far i'm sure that will increase. I'm hoping to fund my cigarette addiction hobby with the proceeds.

They might not be the highlights of The Stone Roses for many people, but for me, that and Bye Bye Badman are what really make it all tick. Sure, we all know about Adored, Waterfall, Made Of Stone and Resurrection, but if it wasn't for those songs making up the numbers - but being bloody good at it - The Stone Roses'd just be another great record, and not the second greatest debut album of all time. Nice bit of Be Here Now on your Oasis list, as well. Guess you felt you had to after your YEH YEH YEH (not technically the same, Flatulence Panic, so put your wallet away) introduction. And, had some Giants-era Oasis on last night. Crying shame Noel couldn't just summon the songwriting powers that be, and get them to bestow on him a couple of out and out tunes. Because as a band, I don't think they ever sounded better (weird, as it was basically just Noel buzzing about like a blue-arsed fly, recording overdubs, in Bonehead and Guigsy's absence). You listen to something like Who Feels Love?, which was never gonna be a classic Oasis record, and it's produced so well, with so many interesting things going on to listen out for, it elevates it above a lot that came after. So the real good stuff, like Gas Panic!, sounds even better listened to now.
