Both Hall and Duffy gone too soon I couldn't believe the news about Duffy at first. Primal Scream is my favourite band and I've always loved Duffy's keyboards in their music as well as the Felt albums he played in. As Bobby wrote today, he was the most skilled musician of them all. But also the youngest and he would've had a lot to offer even in this day and age when it comes to music.

Sure, Corpsegrinder may be a death metal vocalist but he's also wearing his heart on his sleeve. Bravo for that toys to charity haul Mr. Fisher.

Someone described The Clash as The Beatles of punk rock but I think it's an insult to The Clash.

Right now this is my favorite song on the planet. Absolute earworm perfection from early R.E.M.
"Empty prayer, empty mouths combien reaction
Empty prayer, empty mouths talk about the passion
Not everyone can carry the weight of the world..."

The best song Dennis East ever wrote outside Stingray was Trouble, which John Farnham recorded
I get the feeling it's about Las Vegas

Rolling Stone leaving John Farnham out of their 100 (American and commercial) singers of all time is a criminal offence

Rolling Stone leaving John Farnham out of their 100 (American and commercial) singers of all time is a criminal offence The problem I have with these arguments in the last few lists of the last few years is that it's coming from people who have otherwise not paid attention to culture in the last two decades.

R.I.P Earth Wind And Fire drummer Fred White who has died aged 67. Earth Wind And Fire were a soul/funk band from the 70s/80s who made some great songs like Fantasy September Boogie Wonderland After The Love Has Gone Let's Groove

My friend recently released his first song. His lyrics are portuguese but his music also have a lot of British influences (The La's especially). Give it a try

Bridge over Troubled Water was so close to be perfect. So sad that is kind of unfinished, it had potential to be top 5 albums of all time. Wait, actually? I never knew that tbh. Enlighten me lol It's a solemn ending with the cover Bye Bye Love and Song For The Asking intentionally suggesting the end of their partnership. Although it was never meant to be so deliberate. I read somewhere (that I can't for the life of me find where) that there was a song on side two that was on the original tracklist but was taken off as Garfunkel didn't like it. I can't recall what this song was (it may have ended up on a Simon solo album), but given the album's rather muted end, it's exclusion does add to the feeling that it is unfinished. It's by no means a bad ending, but having a cover as one of the songs also feels like a cop out even if it suits how they felt at the time. It's a nagging imperfection on an almost perfect album.
