Our boys do grand finales extremely well but I love albums where you reach a grand conclusion without realizing you're there until the very end.
Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is a good example of this. Us & Them feels like the point where the album peaks and somewhat falls to what seems like the end you didn't think you were gonna get. Then Any Colour You Like carries on and brings you through to Brain Damage and Eclipse bursts in to let you know you got the ending you wanted all along. It's cool. I wanna write something like that.

See some bloke from boy band Blue is guilty of racial abuse.
Reminds me of the time I saw them on TV performing on a Sunday morning cooking show a few months back. Like all boy bands over 30, they looked like blokes from the finance sector doing karaoke. Pathetic.

Yeah, I read that on the BBC news pages, I don't know who he is as I don't follow boy bands but he is absolutely disgusting and let's hope he doesn't get some petty sentence.

To answer Cate Blanchett: Me To answer Stephen King: I have thought since the track on Demons and Wizards Crimson King (where Hansi sings the thrill of a thousand world's dying at once) Pennywise and Flagg both are manifestation of the Crimson King. Also Christine is his car manifestation (not kidding)

So according to Rolling Stone's recent list, John Lennon is apparently the best white singer of all time...

I'm surprised that The 1975 aren't more popular among Oasis fans. They experiment with their sound a lot but first and foremost they have really strong melodies in all of their songs. Another prolific band from Manchester with their own sound, really good melodies, a charismatic lead singer and like Oasis they aren't just a singles band, they have loads of really top quality album tracks in their catalog.
They probably get dismissed as everyone's girlfriend's favourite band or a bit pretentious unfairly. They have some amazing songs that are really worth checking out.

Hearing Bruce Dickinson talk about his book and agree. Is being shocking with names etc normal?

I have spent about two weeks (re-)listening to Red Hot Chili Pepper's entire discography. AMA, I'm now an expert at your service. Can we at least agree Blood Sugar Sex Magîk is the best RHCP album? Happy new year.

The new record is a big step up on their 4th album which was too sparse and didn't have enough big hits for me. Part Of The Band is a bit of a marmite song but I think it's amazing, but I'm In Love With You, Looking For Somebody To Love, Happiness and When We Are Together are all incredibly good songs. There are quite a few ballads on there and with a band like The 1975 who put out such varied music even big fans are bound to not like one direction that they go into and I'm not a massive fan of their ballad'y type songs but aside from that it's a really good album. That's a great list of songs as well, personally I've always liked their electronic pop songs like It's Not Living If It's Not With You or Give Yourself A Try. I'm adamant that due to the variety of music they put out everyone would find something to like in their back catalogue.

I guess their fanbase and Matt's act have a lot to do with the way they're perceived They're a bit hit and miss for me, loved the debut, 2nd was too poppy, 3rd was really good, some wonderful tunes on there, 4th was shit, this last one I couldn't really get into but I didn't pay much attention

I came here to post about this! It’s been a long time since their last album and the gig. And they’re coming to this side of ocean this Autumn! To me Boxer is still my most favourite album of theirs and I believe that High Violet was their peak, but I can’t resist Matt’s heavenly voice, can I?
