Yes, indeed R.I.P Christine. I absolutely love Fleetwood Mac I always have and they're one of my favourite bands. So I was shocked when I read of her passing last night.

So... Kanye West's carreer is officially dead now, right? Aaaaaand.... it's official. Not that there was a comeback left in him, but still. Christ. www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/kanye-west-alex-jones-i-like-hitler-1234639617/Edit: Made this post before seeing that he said "The Holocaust is not what happened, let's look at the facts of that." It's hard to overstate how badly he has destroyed his carreer and reputation. And it will probably continue like this until he does some crazy shit that either gets him killed or locked up. All bets are off.

I was really hoping for this one to make the acoustic hymns album. It’s definitely one of my favourites of his too. His best solo songs imo are the B-Sides to the first album. "Could Be a City Thing...", "Leave Me High", "Precious Stone", "Make a Wish" are top tier tracks. The UNOS B-Sides even range from somewhat decent to solid. "Lead the Way" and "Screw You Screw Me" are fantastic and Lord only knows why didn't he go in that direction more in his last two albums. That UNOS album gets a lot of hate but there are some good moments on there. For me, “this thing called life”, “life can be so beautiful”, and “let my soul rest” are among the best in his solo career. I also really like “how deep is your man?”

Reading an interview with Hansi Kursch and part of me just realised why it is my album of the year. Having his mother (tribute on Let There Be No More) in his heart made him a better son and lyricist I think.

R.I.P Jet Black real name Brain Duffy, the original drummer of the 1970s punk band The Strangers who has sadly died aged 84. I've always liked The Stranglers especially their 70s stuff.

What I want for Christmas: New Marduk album that goes back to their war soldier worship.
Chance of it: 0%

Saw The Cure last night!
As usual, they played a huge 3 hour set. So that’s another one off my list.

"Modern Times" is a deeply underrated Bob Dylan album.
In some ways, post-2000 is my favourite era of Dylan. Each word he sings has such a wealth of experience behind it, and he wears that experience like it's made-to-measure: gruff, full of wicked humour, cocky, mournful, wise, honest. Love the violent reflections of "Tempest" and the melodic nature of "Rough and Rowdy Ways", but "Modern Times" has a clear, wintery energy to it that I just love. Needs some editing, mind, but a great record.
I'd be so bold as to say that Dylan has a better late-career discography than Bowie, McCartney, Cohen, etc.

I also really like “how deep is your man?” The UNOS is the grand scheme of things since seems more ambitious and daring than anything he did afterwards. He seemed geniunely motivated then to prove he didn't need the Verve but after his even ardent defenders were critical of it he retreated back to bad form.
