Alestorm tonight were awesome. My nose got elbow but I'm ok. Kudos to the crowd for singing Bohemian Rhapsody and making a memory.

Giving The Libertines another shot this weekend. I've tried so many times to get into this band over the last 20 years to no success. I do own the "best of" but that never really grabbed me. Gonna do their debut album top to bottom. As musicians intend.

You are old 🤣
I can't see myself liking them if I discovered when I was older than 23,24...

Gonna do their debut album top to bottom. As musicians intend. If a Best Of/Greatest Hits fails, then I don't bother with a band. By that, if there's not at least five songs that catch my ear, then it's a no go. That's the ultimate litmus test of whether you can get into a band or singer.

Their best for me.

Went to see The Cure since 6 years last night with The Twilight Sad as support. Sads were brilliant as always. I did miss them past 3 years! The Cure played for 2 hours and 45 minutes! Incredible that Robert Smith still got his charming voice after 40+ years.
People around me who continuously were taking picture by their mobile phone could f**k off.

If Alex Turner wants to write and record songs like There'd Better Be a Mirrorball, he should first learn to sing like this

You want album that sounds like lost classic from 70s with sexy singer with long hair? Why wasting your time with The Car when Paolo does everything better, he even has better hair 😁

My parents' friends went and filmed some of it and they sounded great. Robert Smith's voice barely changed over the years, amazing.

In fact, their music didn't change past 40+ years at all, yet they still sound so fresh. Went to see The Cure since 6 years last night with The Twilight Sad as support. Sads were brilliant as always. The Cure were more like an extended side-treat, ha. Ha, same as me although I do like The Cure too. It was my 8th time seeing Sads. I've been a huge fan of them since 2007. Great, great, great band!

You want album that sounds like lost classic from 70s with sexy singer with long hair? Why wasting your time with The Car when Paolo does everything better, he even has better hair 😁 I think he's more soul than the vocal jazz/lounge vibe Turner is going for, but that's irrelevant because Paolo Nutini has tunes which is Turner's failing at the minute. I really love Mirrorball and was hyped but that's the only one that's grabbing me so far, believe me I've really tried but I'm struggling with it primarily because of the lack of tunes. I respect the change in style but I was expecting this to be a more finessed, tightly crafted tuneful evolution from Tranquillity Base Hotel. I like the vibe and I like the style but the songs just aren't there for me. If I like the sonics of an album without attention to the songs, then it's nothing more than just pleasant background music. No I'm not looking for MOR pop, I've been listening to some of the old vocal jazz songs this week, and stuff like Scott Walker too, and they are great because they have (a) the vibe + (b) TUNES! The whole dispensing with melody and tunefulness in today's indie/alt rock crowd isn't some kind of cool subversion of the genre, it's just lazy and a lack of execution.

“On A Beach” is definitely my favorite Ashcroft solo song. I was really hoping for this one to make the acoustic hymns album. It’s definitely one of my favourites of his too.

His best solo songs imo are the B-Sides to the first album. "Could Be a City Thing...", "Leave Me High", "Precious Stone", "Make a Wish" are top tier tracks. The UNOS B-Sides even range from somewhat decent to solid. "Lead the Way" and "Screw You Screw Me" are fantastic and Lord only knows why didn't he go in that direction more in his last two albums.

Never had any interest in listening to Paolo Nutini, and for what it's worth I still don't have any interest in listening to Paolo Nutini. Cheers.
