Anyone know Sam Isaac here? I thought he was quite popular artists because I've noticed his music in couple of tv shows I've watched but I just realised he has only 2.8k monthly listeners in Spotify.
Anyway, I think his album Bears sounds really great.
Here's the opening track:

How on earth is Let the Damage Begin only a b-side?

How on earth is Let the Damage Begin only a b-side? Clearly because there wasnt enough room on the album. That's what b-sides are for.

Speaking of ANS, I was quoting So It Goes in the main thoughts thread. That song harbinges pure heartache and grief.

How on earth is Let the Damage Begin only a b-side? I was very happy to see this in their 2007 reunion setlist. On that note...Verve reunited nearly TEN YEARS AGO!!

He's playing loads of gigs all across Britain and Europe, October-Feb '17, as well. You ever seen him live, guigsysEstring ? Might try for Manchester next Feb... Well worth it live from past experience, I saw The Divine Comedy at T in the Park in 1996 first time, then several times after with the last one being Leicester Summer Sundae in 2007, so may go next year as well. Definitely a great artist that if you are into you should see live at least once BOOM! Just got two tickets for Manchester. "I'm absolutely and totally quite uncontrollably HAPPYYYYYYY"

So I'm guessing My Big Mouth was in compilation 1 then, yeah?

Not quite, here was Car Comp 1: live4ever.proboards.com/post/1314002The Hindu Times [Demo], Rock N' Roll Star, The Shock of the Lightning, Headshrinker and Columbia have all been considered, although I do like where you're going with My Big Mouth. At present though it's looking like Setting Sun is the closest a Gallagher contribution is to getting a golden ticket. For sonic variety alone it's worth it.

Best track after D'You Know What I Mean? It's definitely right up there. Where do you stand on All Around the World? D'you think it's all a bit much, or are you with me, thinking it's awesome and should definitely have made it to 10 minutes ?

What makes a band the most relevant band in the world?

What makes a band the most relevant band in the world? The only criteria in my book are that people still give a lot of attention to the release of their albums, and that they continue to produce great music. When either popularity or quality begins to ebb, that's when a band becomes irrelevant.

What makes a band the most relevant band in the world? I guess if a band can find a way to reflect the world around them, at that particular time, they're relevant. You have bands that might do that through their lyrics, as I believe Radiohead have done at different times: from paranoia over increased consumerism and artificiality on OK Computer, to dismay over the resurgence of Right-wing politics, during the Hail To The Thief-era. You have bands that just have a sound; either one that's popular at that time that they just happen to be better than anybody else at (i.e. The Beatles), or one that isn't popular, but there's a desperate need for. For instance, it can't be a coincidence that The Clash's first, and really barebones, punky record, led to them being called "The only band that matters", at a time when the big blues-rock stadium acts like Led Zeppelin and The Stones had all become pale imitations of themselves, and prog-rock had long since jumped the shark. And then you have those bands that are relevant to the culture of the time, through the behaviour and attitudes - maybe even the look - of individual band members; that either challenge culture to move in a different direction, at a time when it really needs it, or play a big part in it remaining the same. And this is where I think Oasis come in. In the mid-90s, you had twenty years of unjust Tory governance (eh, mystoryisgory?) coming to and end (although, not really...). Of course, you have Laddism as well, which the Gallagher's became the sort of advert for with their swilling beer and flicking Vs, and all that other stuff they were doing before in Manchester anyway, but mostly I think it was that feeling of absolute optimism their songs embodied, that I imagine resonated with many Brits at the time. And so they were far more relevant to culture for a while than, say, the dismal grungy bands doing the rounds, with their self-flagellating lyrics of social isolation and apathy... Fast-forward to Blair completing his first term, and then the Britpop bubble bursting, and those kind of bands started to make more sense. And for a band to be truly relevant in the world as it it now, I'd imagine you'd have to carry on in that vein. There'll be other reasons of course, but I think I've just about run out of steam now. And anyway, it's like trying to argue which band is better, X or Y. There's no real way to define it, you just know.

I've just checked out what Blossoms have released so far. I really love the sound of Charlemagne and At Most a Kiss but the rest didn't impress me much. They have an album out in a few months so we'll see if they manage to put better material on there...
