He broke Adele's Vevo record.
Wish he broke Adele's album record as well.

Listened to Let's Dance for the first time yesterday . I've probably heard Mordern Love a hundred times. Never realized it was a Bowie song. It's a perfect little pop song. The first three songs of that album show how versatile he was. If he wanted to he probably could have been one of the biggest pop stars on the planet. My favourite track off that album is Cat People, just terrific. Criminal World is also very underrated.

Heroes entered our singles top 50 at #41 and Lazarus at #26
Good to see Bowie back in the charts, especially since it has so much Bieber (he's both #1 and #2 ffs)

Apparently black stars are used in cancer scans to indicate lesions. Jesus... I can't imagine that Bowie didn't think of amplifier brand as well. But he probably just didn't care. Great amps, none the less! And here he is wearing a shirt with a black star on it

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Rebel Rebel 1-16-15 CLASS. Here is the soundboard audio from the official release with multi cam fan video. Pretty cool how they put it all together.

My thanks to Tom Stroud for sharing this fascinating clip from the BBC Arts website.
It features producer Tony Visconti on the making of David Bowie's Heroes, guiding the listener through the original multitrack recording step-by-step. Those synths are beautiful, a lush soundscape in their own right. Amazing how they blend with Fripp's treated guitars. And it's a real treat to hear Bowie's incredible vocal on its own, with the increasing reverb FX as the song builds.

Someone (a Belgian guy) who worked with Bowie for it knew he was going to die. Bowie didn't want to comment when he was asked about next year's plan.

As long as they don't take one of those songs and stick some other singer like Sam Smith or Adele or whomever on it (like they stuck Justin Timberlake on a previously unreleased Michael Jackson song) and make this Frankensteined shit out of it and release it I'm fine.

I went to see the exhibition in Groningen yesterday and I'm so glad that I did. It was really interesting and I got emotional at some moments. Each visitor got a headsset with a censor on and it started to play music, video's, interview at the exactly right moment - for exapmle, when I was standing at front of Starman costume, the song and a live footage started to play in my headphone etc etc. There was also a teaspoon for cocaine which he held in his pocket during recording Diamond Dogs. A lot of costumes, his handwritten lyrics notes for Ziggy Stardust, Ahses to Ashes, Fame, his drawing for Heroes album cover, his paiting of Yukio Mishima, the note he got from Elvis Presley... I wrote my words for him in the condolence book at the entrance of the museum "Rest in Peace, Starman". The exhibition has been extended now.
