This song is amazing, it kinds of predates the song Blackstar. that whole album is great, can definitely hear blackstar in there, good catch.

I've always dug the covers by M. Ward and Last Shadow Puppets. To me "In The Heat of The Moment" is one of the great underrated Bowie gems. Never thought Oasis' "Heroes" was particularly memorable. Seems rushed. I'll have to check out Beck's "Sound and Vision". Love that tune, love that album! I've never been a big fan of Oasis cover of Heroes to be honest. To me Noel's voice just doesn't fit to the song. Oasis could have made a new era, new direction with the album like SOTSOG. Shame that they didn't come out of their comfort zone.

My issue with the Heroes cover is that they did nothing with it. The I Am the Walrus cover is amazing, not only because of the amazing vocal from Liam, but because it stands out from the original. But Heroes, isn't much different from the David Bowie version. Why would anyone want to hear a lesser version of the exact same song, when they can hear the original? Think of Heroes with a Who Feels Love type production. Anything that took a turn toward something different from the original would have been fine.

Noels voice is fine on heroes imo, ive said it before that my problem with it is he turned it into too much of a generic rocker to fit with the oasis sound, had he made it abit more unique and interesting it wouldve been a lot better.

stonespleasedontstop.blogspot.com.ar/2016/01/mick-jagger-y-paul-mccartney-tocaran-en.htmlMick Jagger and Paul McCartney 'to play David Bowie memorial concert in New York' The two legendary musicians are expected to lead the way at The Music of David Bowie at Carnegie Hall in March David Bowie will be honoured with a tribute concert in New York later this year, with some legendary musicians set to take to the stage. Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger are amongst those expected to remember the star. The event - named The Music of David Bowie - was already set to take place at Carnegie Hall before the singer died on Monday, but following his passing, the 31st March event will now be a memorial show. According to the Daily Star, The Beatles and Rolling Stones legends are expected to join the likes of Sir Elton John as part of the line-up. Meanwhile, a statement on the event's website reads: "The unexpected death of David Bowie has turned this tribute, which we have worked on for the past 7 months, into a memorial concert... "This year's concert will certainly be remembered as a poignant celebration of his music by his friends, peers, and fans. "We are deeply saddened by the news. The timing of our public on-sale date is bizarre in its timing and the show is taking on many more emotions. RIP David and may God's love be with you."

Apparently black stars are used in cancer scans to indicate lesions. Jesus... Bloody nora... Makes you wonder what was it was like in that head of his when he sung some of those lyrics - which are so obviously now to do with his death - in the studio for the first time, and all filmed all those bits for the videos, like backing into the shadowy closet at the end of Lazarus and holding onto his torso in Blackstar, as if on the verge of keeling over in pain... Because it's Bowie, and he's your classic larger than life Rock God figure, just oozing coolness and intellect, you imagine him being above such things as becoming melancholy over the prospect of one's death, but it must have been hell. Incredibly brave man.

Listened to Let's Dance for the first time yesterday . I've probably heard Mordern Love a hundred times. Never realized it was a Bowie song. It's a perfect little pop song. The first three songs of that album show how versatile he was. If he wanted to he probably could have been one of the biggest pop stars on the planet.

Incredibly brave man. and like others have pointed out instead of spending his final days resting, he spent countless hours in the studio working on these songs and perfecting them knowing full well he wouldn't live to make a penny off this album. and he did it all for the fans. #RESPECT

I've always loved what I have heard from Bowie but never dug in to his discography to much, since hearing the news of his passing I have had Blackstar on repeat, what an amazing album, Lazarus in particular. Even though I can't call myself a huge fan I very much respected him and loved the way he kept reinventing himself through the years to keep relevant.
The fact he left signs there about what was about to come has really fascinated me, maybe that's the wrong word but it's really had an effect on me, what a way to go out.
Legend.

Several venues in my country are going to have a tribute night coming weeks. Yeah, was planning on going to one of them at the end of February. It's kind of vague what will happen but there will be covers and visually they'll do something too. I like the venue and it's cheap so why not. Are you going to any of them?

I would love to go to "No More Heroes" at TivoliVredenburg, but I'll be in Groningen at that day, so it'll be a bit difficult. I'll see if I can go another one.

As it was said earlier, I think the bside version of Heroes is nothing special but certianly not bad either. Would have been nice at a gig I'm sure. But the acoustic version is really nice. I always thought Noel doing this acoustic for the 2009 stadium gigs with Gem on harmonica wuld have been a show highlight.
