I'm listening to BE for the first time in ages and I still enjoy it now and again. It's 10 years old this month. Just listening to it now (the 17 track Japanese version) and itβs way, way better than I remember and miles - to me - better than the first one. Perhaps time will be kinder to BE and it just got lost given all Beady Eyeβs problems at the time?

But BE has some a sweet, low-key sound and some great tracks. Flick of the Finger is one of the all-time great Gallagher tunes. Those horns give me shivers every time.

I think thatβs fair - and I think DGSS has aged poorly (that hyper-retro sound) and BE the reverse. I like the βsweet, low-key soundβ comment.

I don't listen to Beady Eye that much these days but you're right about BE it's such a good album but as for their first one, it does have some good songs on it but it's certainly not a patch on BE. It would be nice if time would be kinder to BE but time will tell.

That and FLW are the kick the doors of highlights I always hark back to. Soul Love and Bring the Light still hold a special place too

There are times I really miss Beady Eye. I know the outcome now is better for everyone that was involved, but it was a band I was really hyped for and I liked Liam being part of a band and yes there were some songs that are not good in hindsight, but I still prefer seeing Liam trying to write his own songs because he really had some great songs in him in my opinion. I don't care about mass friendly stadium tunes,so I love songs "morning son", "soul love" etc. Hope on his next solo record contains a few Liam written songs more.

I think people spend too much time slagging Beady Eyes lesser work than appreciate their positives, yeah there isn't much there but you see glimpses of good stuff in there.
I espcially loved Andy stepping up in the studio bringing in his sound, wish we got more of that.

SBOTA is one of the worst songs I've ever listened to.
The Morning Son is a great song ruined by a mediocre performance by Liam. Much better live.

I heard shine a light for first time in ages and actually really enjoyed it. Had some great Rolling Stones vibes.
The video always makes me laugh with Liam..who looked pretty sharp in this era playing a priest. He can wear other things that aren't ponchos...is it possible!

I've always liked Shine A Light to be honest and it still remains one of my favourite Beady Eye songs. As for the video I haven't seen it in ages.

It's 12 years ago today since Beady Eye released their The Beat Goes On Single. Also, it was 12 years ago yesterday since Beady Eye played at the T.In The Park festival. On Stop Crying Your Heart Out they reported that the the single The Beat Goes On was released on this day like I said but now they're saying it was released 12 years today?
