Just had a listen to 'Off At The Next Exit' and 'Evil Eye' because they both get tons of praise on here... Gotta say, they are both as bland as tap water. That's not to say they're terrible, but they are rather boring.

Can you explain why it's 'hahahaha'? Or was it sarcastic? Don't worry, you don't have to be upset because I spoke bad about your Noel. I don't think it is a bad thing that 'NGHFB sounds like an Oasis album without Liam'. It sounds just more like the latter Oasis albums (I think it is a better album than HC and DBTT). DGSS doesn't sound like any Oasis album in my opnion. But I think your argument is better than mine so I will be quiet. Oh wait, you didn't have anything else to say but 'hahahaha'. Calm down Flashbax. Surely by now you're accustomed to Mean Mrs Mustard's sarcastic posts? Anyway, you shouldn't take anything you read on the internet to heart: we're just a bunch of people you've never met, so why should you take what we say so seriously? Why do you take me serious? I was just wondering why someone was laughing at me, or why someone thought it was funny. And I'm not upset or angry, maybe it seems like that because my English isn't perfect, sorry if it seemed like that.

Listening to BE as it's June, always brings back memories of when it came out. I press skip on Face the Crowd and Ballroom Figured but everything else is almost magic. Soon Come Tomorrow is perfect. I'm sure a lot of it was down to Dave Sitek and those cool sounds.

As a tune it's still very enjoyable though... love the instrumentation.

The fact that English is not my first language probably helps in many situations, but overall I agree with you. There are so many cool songs ruined by shit lyrics, and if you come from an English-speaking country they're nearly impossible to ignore, I guess.

There is a difference between shit lyrics and nonsensical lyrics that serve a song. For instance, I don't think Supersonic and Champagne Supernoa have shit lyrics.
"Wake up the dawn and ask her why A dreamer dreams she never dies Wipe that tear away now from you eye"
"Cos' my friend said he'd take you home He sits on a corner all alone He lives under a waterfall Nobody can see him Nobody can ever hear him call"
What does that mean ? Nothing but it suits the melody and the mood of the song . I can't imagine these songs with other lyrics, they're memorable. For that alone, they're great lyrics even though they mean "nothing".

Was listening to some Beady Eye today, the only great Beady Eye song is 'White Smoke' and it wasn't even officially released!
God bless.

I'll give Beady Eye credit for releasing Bring the Light first. It was a daring move to put out something completely different from anything Oasis, and was a good move artistically, but from a business standpoint, it sunk them badly. Four Letter Word followed by The Roller and Millionaire or For Anyone would've been a better way to go.

Columbia with Chris on drums is great! I was there that night. I feel privileged to be one of the few 'young' fans to have witnessed Columbia live, and to have Bonehasd there as well was truly epic. It's a disgrace that they never played it after Glasto 2004. I didn't get into Oasis until 2005.

While I am certainly a fan of Beady Eye, I have no problem admitting that their best song is "Sons of the Stage," which, of course, is a cover. Sadly, a clip from that cover was how they elected to first introduce themselves. In a way, I suppose it was a smart move, since it was a quality clip, but for me it ultimately wound up being a slight disappointment because it was not gleaned from an original idea.

Columbia with Chris on drums is great! Just looking at the picture of Liam and Bonehead together on stage like that makes me happy.

Beady Eye actually have some clever lyrics, that seem to get glossed over. Off the top of my head: - I took a needle, sewn myself right back at the seams. I saw my universal gleam.
- The future gets written today.
- A 20/20 visionary will never waste a single day.
- The clock on the wall says it's time......> This double entendre is clever as fuck.
- It's not the end of the world, it's not even the end of the day.
There's a ton more like the above, but I can't be arsed to find them at the moment.

Sending some warm thoughts to our Liam today. Don't know why but just felt like he's been down and not had anyone in his corner lately. I hope he's okay and he's happy.
