Its only a matter of time before Noel discovers this lost American band from the early early 70s. He will become obsessed. That sounds good! Didn't know it. I feel like their are a million California bands like this from the late 60s. They craft these amazing guitar rock psych albums. Got no love or press. Broke up. But the music remains behind to be discovered. The David are another that spring to mind but I believe Noel found them.

There are a couple of threads where people share music by obscure bands from the 60s and there's another one for obscure ones from the 70s. Oh what gems I have found going through that thread.

Fort Knox Holy Mountain Beautiful World If Love Is The Law The Man Who Built The Moon Dead In The Water
6 tunes that I absolutely love and constantly revisit time and time again. I like the rest of the album too, I don’t think there’s a shit song but for there to be six outstanding tunes for me personally - when the average was three with past post 90s Oasis/Noel albums - is more than I could have wished for. Undoubtedly for me the best Gallagher related album since Be Here Now, even if I do think Noel comes off as a dick in interviews these days.

I've come around to that song recently. It's a different type of song for Noel with the Motown inspiration that shows up in the melody and layers on the song. Really good tune. She Taught Me How to Fly and the album version of Be Careful What You Wish For comes close to those six, imo, especially STMHTF. I like the '80s/Blondie influence and how euphoric it sounds, and how it's reminiscent it is of Up in the Sky. It's a very sweet tune.

The minute I first heard If Love Is The Law I knew it was going to be one of my favourites. Melodically brilliant and I love the Phil Spector style production, it’s Noel showing that he’s a better writer at quite sweet sounding pop songs as opposed to pathetic dad rock crap like Lock All The Doors. Johnny Marr’s cameo appearance on the harmonica is a a really nice surprise too.

sorry if this was posted already, but apparently Noel and Damon had a little public spat recently. Maybe they were just joking, maybe Damon was showing off his large ring...

Yeah I'm gonna say this was a perfectly amicable conversation which someone took a picture of at just the right moment to make them look like they were "having words". Then the abomination that is the Daily Fail stole the picture and made up some spurious story about a pub argument to go along with it. Everyone knows Noel & Damon get along fine these days.

Noel looks like he's about to laugh.
Damon does look a bit miffed though, to be fair.

Noel looks like he's about to laugh. Damon does look a bit miffed though, to be fair. He usually does. Still, it's not often that Noel is only the second best songwriter in a picture.

There have only been 3 threads updated in this section in the last 12 days. Things are very quiet in this album cycle.

Just realised I'd Pick You Every Time has one line which says "I don't mean to be unkind"... was Kurstin mocking Noel?

That would be equivalent to early-October in the Chasing Yesterday cycle, and things had died down a bit by then too.

LP3 had better finally be Noel's Eno-produced, electronic, dystopian, concept double album or things are gonna start to get pretty stale. Not to give this comment a bump from hell, but the way you described your ideal Noel LP3 sounds like Zooropa. Now I want to hear Noel do that, or something in the vein of Zooropa, since that'd be badass, but WBTM turned out pretty well.

Holy Mountain is one of the best things Noel has ever done. The hate it gets is perplexing. mystoryisgory

Holy Mountain needed a better chorus I think.
I know it doesn't sound like the Ricky Martin song. But it's all I can hear when I hear the chorus.

Noel made the list 10 singers with unashamedly massive egos www.bbc.co.uk/music/articles/1f664125-bb21-4a95-b55e-a4abb26677f9"All I ever wanted to do was make a record. Here's what you do: you pick up your guitar, you rip a few people's tunes off, you swap them round a bit, get your brother in the band, punch his head in every now and again and it sells."
