I don't want an acoustic album at all. Dead In The Water? Love it myself, but (a) he's not going to write acoustic songs of that quality throughout an entire album and (b) it would probably all be very samey, relying on the same chords and same tempos.
He doesn't mix his acoustic styles up to really offer much variety. It would get extremely dull very fast, and his naff and pony lyrics would be exposed badly. While he can mask that with a sense of fun and adrenaline on more layered tunes with varied instrumentation, he wouldn't get away with it with just an acoustic guitar.
There's a reason why your Bob Dylans, Leonard Cohens, Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteens, Neil Youngs, etc can all do acoustic albums - because they're great lyricists. Noel is not - so it's a no go area.

Every night I light a candle and say a pray that we will someday get the all acoustic Noel album and tour. If not that, then I want a BHN-style guitar explosion. Either way no keyboards, although mike on a proper piano is allowed. No way in hell that could work with Noel's vocals unfortunately. He's not got nearly enough bite to pull that off. Well I guess if I’m praying to benevolent magical beings I might as well ask for the oasis reunion huh 😆

Well I guess if I’m praying to benevolent magical beings I might as well ask for the oasis reunion huh 😆 I just don't want him to write songs that sound like typical Oasis personally, which is why I dig Who Built The Moon - if they're going to sound like Oasis, then he might as well get the lead singer who could actually sing to be involved! To be brutally honest, I couldn't bear to hear Noel do a 'guitar rock' album. It would most likely sound clunky and flat, much like the Mustique demos....

I never understood the complaint with Noel’s lyrics. Are the consistently excellent? Of course not. Are they deeply layered? No. But he more often that not comes up with some very clever lines. The two verses of Gas Panic show his potential. The song itself is too psychedelic for me as Oasis goes but those two verses are perjaosxhis best ever poetic lyrics. The man, when he wants to be, is a genius.

Can anyone remind me where to move that first interlude to in WBTM tracklisting?
And does the album work if you do it?

Am giving it a try (moving Interlude 1 there, works well if you use Audacity to fade the last couple of seconds before Black & White comes in as otherwise it's a bit abrupt. Now that's a bank holiday post if ever I saw one!

Let's face it. For me, as a fan, perspective of new Oasis album would be far more exciting than HFB,but for Noel...It's a pretty good deal. He enjoys being at front of the stage, he won't back off to being a guitarist again, no way.

I hope NGHFB#4 or NGHFB#5 will be an acoustic album. I'm listing to The Dreams We Have as Children (Live album) and that is Noel at his best. Every night I light a candle and say a pray that we will someday get the all acoustic Noel album and tour. If not that, then I want a BHN-style guitar explosion. Either way no keyboards, although mike on a proper piano is allowed. A sound similar to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's "Howl" would be great. Could still rock it up with a few numbers.

What is more likely: an Oasis tour or Oasis album? Neither, but I'd say a tour.

What is more likely: an Oasis tour or Oasis album? Neither, but I'd say a tour. Agreed. On tour, Noel can stand in his spot and do whatever he wants without really needing to involve/interact with anyone else (see DOYS tour), but in the studio, you really do have to work with other people. After 7 years of giving instructions to hired hands, I doubt he’d ever go back to being “one of a band” in the studio, even in the limited way he was in Oasis. The things we’ve heard about the recording of CY and WBTM only reinforce this - apart from drum tracks from Jeremy or Emre, it’s just Noel in a room (the bass player was in LA, recorded his parts separately and sent them over). Making a record was never that much of a team sport for Noel, but now it _really_ isn’t, and he likes it that way.

What is more likely: an Oasis tour or Oasis album? Tour. Remember that album The Stone Roses were gonna record when they reformed? Yeah.

I'd love to see a collaboration between Noel and Sean Lennon. He's a top songwriter.

Listen to the album everything that you’ve come to expect, Turner got there first No. Impossible! Noel was the first to create cosmic pop. The first to adventure in cutting and pasting. He architected the ambient. He soundtracked the apocalypse. It was all Noel baby.* X *David made excellent cups of tea though.

In TMWBTM I legitimately keep hearing “Now we got to walk like a dog in the rat race”, and still months later am unsure if this would be a better lyric or not. Hmm....
