I forgot how good "The Right Stuff" is. Brilliant isn't it. Still my favourite NG solo song.

A shame WBTM does not follow this style a bit. I won´t say it´s my favorite, but it´s up there. Tunes like this and Alone On The Rope are some of my favorite NG solo stuff.

Chasing yesterday is there best solo album so far from Noel in my opinion. It's so good.
I like that he did something different with WBTM but his typical hooks and catchy song writing isn't here as much

Next time, I would love to hear Holmes take on some proper finished Noel G songs. Best of both worlds. Yeah, I agree - there was a lot of just looping the same chords round on this album. Which, admittedly is a common NG thing, but I missed some of those epic bridges and stuff that he used to do a lot

Initially I was very enthusiastic about WBTM. I still am, but less so. I've noticed that I really haven't listened to it a lot since it came out bar a couple of songs (can't remember the last time though) while I fell in love with HFB1 (in spite of it's dull production) and listened quite a lot to CY when it came out.
I'm not sure why this is..

I'm not sure why this is.. IMO it's because regardless of production the truth is Noel writes his best stuff when he writes alone on an acoustic guitar. Possibly because time alone often allows people to access parts of their soul that can't always be accessed without feeling self conscious when other people are around. I really like WBTM and several songs on there are getting regular plays in my house. But we all know that songwriting wise Noel does his best work writing the way he always did, on his own. Those will be the songs which endure. A great testament to his incredible talent though that he managed to still come up with a terrific album writing in the studio with a ginger fella over his shoulder vetoing all his choruses. I'd find that quite distracting.

I'm not sure why this is.. Me too. Though in my case I know exactly why I haven't listened to WBTM as much as Chasing Yesterday. Three years ago I listened to Gallagher music almost exclusively. Now, my musical tastes have broadened to contain everything from hip-hop to free jazz to 10's electronica, and as a result, WBTM, as great as it is, is just another record that I love. And I love a lot of albums. So I don't have a lot of time for WBTM when there's The Money Store, Spiritual Unity, and There Is Love in You to listen to.

I know he had a great time and I'm happy for him but fuck me, I still don't think Noel should be supporting anyone, let alone U2. I'm sure the catering was tip top but Noel should be better than half empty stadiums and kissing the ass of an illuminati spokesman. You can tell by Noel's insistence on wearing sunglasses for every interview afterwards that Bono-itus is more catching than herpes. The moment Gem starts wearing a fucking beany hat management need to step in and have a word.Good, it might give the bloke some songwriting talent then.

Personally, I think anyone who comes up with the lyric "It's hasta manana, you're on your own banana skin feet now" is a certified legend.

Why did Noel not put the first Interlude at the beginning of side 2? Having it there makes Be Careful What You Wish For seem even more foreboding and brooding.

Half the time when I listen to Fort Knox the alarm bell seamlessly gets lost in the mix. The other half it sticks out like a sore thumb. Its definitely the length of the alarm bell that can get annoying when your ear focuses on it almost exclusively. I'd have preferred it to be 10-15 seconds and fade out. But hey thats just one mans opinion.
