Just randomly stumbled across Noel's house dining area and he's actually got a photo of himself with his Union Jack guitar up on the wall... Make of that what you will :-) Nice gaff though...

For the people who like to share doubts about Jeremy Stacey's abilities as a drummer: I just read he is going to sit in with King Crimson for their concerts next September. He is playing with Robert fucking Fripp. You don't get that gig unless you're a true virtuoso.
Come to think of it, Fripp and Noel are so different in their approaches to music that you could call them opposites. It's interesting that they're going to share a band member (at least, temporarily).

Sorry but that doesn't change my view of him as a drummer in NGHFB- I will reserve judgement until I see the Fripp shows but it's like anything else, because you have the right connections and reputation doesn't always make you the best person for the job. Personal opinion, nothing more or less. Agree with you though that I wouldn't have thought of Robert Fripp and Noel Gallagher sharing band members

Personal opinion, nothing more or less. Agree with you though that I wouldn't have thought of Robert Fripp and Noel Gallagher sharing band members Fripp doesn't offer people a seat in their band just because of their reputation. He's an extremely demanding control freak and I've no doubt Stacey had to "pass the audition" before getting the job. I understand the reasons why people may dislike Stacey's drumming with NGHFB (the occasional heavy-handedness and the simple patterns), but I think the one to blame for them is Noel (and perhaps Sardy on the first album). I'm pretty sure Stacey plays the way Noel wants him to; maybe his issue is being too nice to suggest otherwise. I wouldn't blame the guy, after all, we know Noel's history with drummers. He must have left Stacey a bit loose on The Right Stuff and the result is brilliant and very different to the rest. Even within the limited scope of what Noel wants from a drummer, Stacey has shown to be a very versatile and capable musician. And his recent association with King Crimson is in my opinion a quality stamp that shouldn't be ignored. Is he the best possible drummer for NGHFB? Maybe not, but if so, the problem isn't that he cannot play.

The Death of You and Me is his best song since he has gone solo, along Alone on The Rope and While The Song Remains The Same.
Wish Noel will continue someday with pop folk approach, it's where he's the best imo.

Should the deluxe edition of Chasing Yesterday have been: 1. Do The Damage 2. Revolution Song 3. Leave My Guitar Alone 4. Here's A Candle (For Your Birthday Cake) 5. The Girl With X-Ray Eyes (Demo)
Thoughts?

The Wizard remixes for CY tracks were interesting but I'll pass on the rest.

Wish Noel will continue someday with pop folk approach, it's where he's the best imo. Add in a little bit of a jazz influence, and I second that. Noel's more acoustic-focused moments have always been really good, and very sincere as well, all throughout his career.
