As HFB or Noel acoustic or promotional gigs? Some of those tunes are basically 1 off's.. Shhh, don't tell! Well I didn't know if I had to count them, so I just did. Shout it out loud, LDSMD, Angel child, Idler's Dream etc. were played at "normal gigs" of TCT which is a bit special I guess, but these were one offs too. he also did them in Dubai? and hammersmith which was a fan gig only (which was amazing ) and obv first few gigs of CY shout it out loud survived.. guess you could generalise that in smaller gigs where he knows there's fans there.. he'll play wider setlist.. which on the flip side shows he'll play the basics for the arena's / casual's .. Which i think is the the reason people complain as it's the fans 'who pays his bills' dont get songs for entertaining the casuals. (tho obv realistically its the extra casuals in the arenas that DO pay the bills. always great gigs either way)

23! Uhm, he did do Don't Go Away. He did Don't Go Away at TCT at gigs with only Oasis songs before the NGHFBs album. I don't really count that in the rotation at all.

And didn't he play (It's Good) To Be Free once in a while?

Noels playing tonight in my City and I'm not going. I've seen him 4 times in the past 5 years and twice last year and it's all just a bit too much. Why do I feel so bad?! :-(

My mom was watching some Cosmopolitan fashion tutorial thing which she sent me and it had a cover of If I Had A Gun playing in the background.

Been listening to the Faster than the Speed of Magic CD and I feel like most of the songs sound much better on there, in their raw form, than on the HFB album. Some songs work better with the big glossy production (EOTR, AKA WAL though EOTR does overdo it with all the dreadful echo) but songs like IIHAG, Record Machine, Soldier Boys, Broken Arrow, and especially Wrong Beach - those all sound terrific in their rough distorted or raw acoustic form. The Good Rebel sounds better this way (I'm one of the few who like it) and I'd Pick You Everytime sounds divine.
I also hear "Candle for your Birthday Cake" in "Dream On" towards the end, if you listen closely.

Only recently have I begin to realize how great a song Revolution Song is. An absolutely euphoric and triumphant affirmation of confidence. Would have been an amazing comeback single, since its lyrics are essentially a repudiation of the naysayers of Oasis since BHN. No offense to GLIO, but Noel really needed something more resounding to get the world's attention again. The choir version must be immense, and I really hope we'll get to hear it one day.

I really like it, great little b-side. I've just listened to it again this morning, I've just had a thought, is the revolution song he's singing out dlbia?

Freaky Teeth deserves a place in the setlist. He played it at a couple of nights last month then he dropped it again.

Soldier Boys And Jesus Freaks and (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach are really underrated. Two of his bests.

He opened with it in Milan last summer, we had been waiting for hours under the sun during one of hottest days of the year and Noel was unusually late. Then he came on stage, he strummed the first chords of The Wrong Beach and the whole crowd went mad! I can still feel my body shaking because of Jeremy Stacey's drumbeats in the intro. The whole gig was crazy loud. IT'S A LONG JOURNEY BABY!

freaky teeth 2016 sounds different to freaky teeth 2011, sounds more like the album version, no piano and seems generally slower.

It's a shame it wasn't on SOTSOG just because of Blur. Such a good song that's a bit less good on chasing Yesterday form... But are we sure a choir version exist from those sessions ?

I certainly hope so. It'd be a real shame if it never progressed beyond the demo until the CY era. Noel said they scrapped it because of Tender, that was released as a single on February 22, 1999. But SOTSOG sessions go from April to August 1999. Unless they reworked it or recorded it anyway during those sessions or later, it seems very unlikely, sadly. Let's hope they did.
