You Know We Can't Go Back is one of my favourite HFB songs. One of the few Noel songs that retains Oasis magic for me.

WBTM is my favourite record of his, very narrowly followed by Chasing Yesterday. The difference between these two for me is that WBTM is a proper record whereas Chasing Yesterday feels like a collection of songs if you see what I mean. As for the EPs, it's a good thing he released them as EPs since there's no cohesion. The title tracks are all kind of meh to me except This is the Place. But there are some real gems in the other tracks from the EPs like Sail On, Rattling Rose and A Dream is all I need to Get By. It was nice to finally have a finished, albeit overproduced and bland Come On Outside. Evil Flower is a fun track and Wandering Star is classic Noel and could have been on Council Skies. But yeah, musically, that era is my favourite yet. I've always loved experimental Noel. People bitch about the EPs but would they rather no Noel music from 2018 to 2023? That would suck. I really enjoy all 3 title tracks. Wish they made WBTM to be honest. That album is 1-2 tunes short for me. Also, Sail On is mega. I totally agree, I'm glad we got them and, because they weren't an album they were spread out in time. So, if you add Back from where we came and the new year demos in 2021 and 2022, we've had new music from Noel every year since 2017-2018. That's pretty cool. Plus the EPs and Back from where we came were kind of a dumping of songs that were just lying around (Come On Outside, International Magic, Sail On, etc.) Can't argue with that!

You Know We Can't Go Back is one of my favourite HFB songs. One of the few Noel songs that retains Oasis magic for me. Absolutely, it has that perfect Oasis sound to it. Its a song I could easily picture a young Liam singing. It makes sense too, when Noel talked about writing it, it was classic Noel, he got plastered and woke up the next morning with the song in hand. Hes also said it should've been a single once he seen the crowd reception like oh fuck me.

I think Evil Flower is the only track I really don’t like from WBTM and the EPs. I just love that era. I wish Noel had continued doing the non album EPs between albums.
I just wish Noel would but stuff out a bit more often tbh. It doesn’t have to be his best stuff. Just throw it out to us between albums if it’s going to be three years.

What's everyone's opinion on WBTM and the 3 EPs? I personally love them. Holy Mountain, This is the Place and The Man Who Built the Moon are top tier. Love the album and EPs. In fact I appreciate WBTM even more as time goes on. I find anyone who's not into the Ibiza style music is not gonna get on with the EPs and certain songs on WBTM (and I'm gonna add AA to that) but luckily I am, got a massive collection too, takes me back to the good old days in the early 00s. I'd love for Noel to write a Chill Out electronic album. Wish he didn't care so much what people think.

Keep on Reaching, Holy Mountain, Black & White Sunshine, If Love is the Law, The Man Who Built the Moon, Sail On, A Dream is All I Need To get By, Come on Outside, And She Taught Me How To Fly.... I suppose I could name them all! Of Course Dead In The Water. To be fair, there hasn't been a Noel album that hasn't been killer to me.

I was looking at a couple of setlists that are/were on sale online. These two belong to the pre-HFB1 rehearsals in August 2011. Nice to see that Stop the Clocks was actually rehearsed multiple times, but then it was never played live. Listen Up and Married With Children (with electric guitar!) were also rehearsed but not played. A real shame! Also, electric versions of It's Good to Be Free and The Death of You and Me were attempted. Those would have been great. Heck, even an acoustic arrangement of Morning Glory was in the works! Noel didn't bring them on tour: he played his 355 or one of the 345s instead.

I would have just been pleasantly surprised to discover the songs Noel had considered but didn't perform, and you are able to tell us they were going to be electric or not just from the scribblings on the setlist, haha.

When I saw Drop B next to Mucky Fingers I thought it was crazy, Noel going metal or something like that. Then I remembered when I saw record machine that it is the B string to A like in Lyla, Hindu Times and The Right Stuff.

Also The Shock of the Lightning, Alone on the Rope, A Simple Game of Genius, Don't Stop and Pretty Boy were recorded and played with the B string tuned down to A. Personally, I love the sound of it and I always have a guitar ready with that tuning. It's got a droning sound that is very moody. By the way, I see that Record Machine was rehearsed with the B tuned to A (as it is on the record and on the various demos), but I believe that it was actually played in standard tuning during the tours.

What does that drop B string to A do, exactly? For instance, for the “Noel chords” like Em7 et al, do you leave open the two treble strings or still fret them both at 2nd fret for the whole song like in Wonderwall.

Sus2/4 are easier to do. 11ths as well.

WOW Noel hasen't played MG acoustically since 96'! What a shame he completely dropped it. Would've been great to see electric versions of IGTBF and MWC as well. But what a delight to guitarists to see some love for the Les Pauls and even the SG! To be fair the NGHFB tour was an absolute delight of surprises but it's very interest to see that we could've had even more.

Wish Noel would have had the same setlist as this year's TCT for his last tour.
Talk Tonight, Whatever, Lock All The Door... I could have forgiven your grumpiness Noel Gallagher (but not quite).
Seriosly, Do The Damage as the opening song, his Chasing Yesterday Tour 2015 was my favourite gig of his.
