'Alone On The Rope' is probably his best song as a solo artist. (Sorry, I meant MY favourite song)

Bits from the soundcheck in Montevideo: Basically he's trying to get this guitar sound right while playing variations of The Who's I Can't Explain main riff. Who knows what we might recognise from this soundcheck in two years time...thanks for posting however!

Not sure where to put this as it could mean absolutely nothing... While browsing on YouTube I noticed this short clip which is basically an advert for an interview with Noel's mixing engineer Dan Lewis (you can read it here: issuu.com/mondiale/docs/tpimar16_digitallr/28). I think that the audio track in the background comes from one of Noel's soundchecks (after the applause and cheering which belong to a different recording). The rhythm guitar starting around 00:25 totally sounds like him: it's not only the playing style that suits him, but mainly the guitar tone and related effects. It might be a simple band jam, but also the base of a new track. In the interview Dan Lewis says that he usually records stuff from the mixing desk, so... (By the way, this post is complete speculation) That sounds like a cross between Columbia and Fade Away. Thanks for posting.

You Know We Can't Go Back is very underrated. Top tune!

Last night I dreamt I met Noel, and that I said some mean things to him (I MIGHT have called him an ugly dwarf).
So yeah.

What happened with Noel's blog?

What happened with Noel's blog? He stopped doing it, because he got bored, forgot about it sometimes, didn't always have a lot to share, etc. You noticed that they were getting shorter and shorter near the end. That's why he brought the Instagram profile to life. That way he can post a picture and share a short story. It's ideal, although his Instagram is superboring.

Just found this on the NGHFB facebook page - had to look for it though! If you hadn't mentioned this and tagged me here, I probably wouldn't have known. That said, I won't be anywhere near there at that time so I won't be going. But I'm not sad about it - I'm not interested in the other acts there, festivals mean a shorter and less exciting setlist, and its about $300, plus travel to get there. I'm going to wait still for more announcements...but I think its only festivals. I'm hoping for the Winnipeg Folk Festival. That's a festival I will go to. If you hear anything else, tag me again please!

These kids met Noel in a guitar shop in London. Imagine that! Instagram post: http://instagr.am/p/BDyo2nBFFEn I looks like Noel is playing an Epiphone Emperor (I can't identify the exact model but it looks like it). A very unusual guitar for him, he's not really into rockabilly or jazz

I was reading a review of Macca's work with Youth as The Fireman, and someone noted that, because it was so much better than the other albums he'd been releasing under his own name, Paul may put out his best work under an alias.
Perhaps our Noely G ought to do the same. Anonymity may take all the pressure he must feel to please his target audience, and make him more willing to experiment.

Freaky Teeth should have been on his debut album.
