Who Built The Moon has officially gone platinum Would love my flops to be like this Don't think any Gallaghers solo albums will ever be a flop in the UK. The fanbase is just still too huge there, and despite the war between some pro Noel/pro Liam, most of the fanbase will buy albums from both of them.

I thought Who Built The Moon went platinum ages ago to be honest.

Yeah I agree with you, the fact is Oasis have always had a huge fanbase here in the UK and Noel and Liam will always shift a huge amount of records.

Because I donβt think BE could be called anything but a flop π

A few thoughts
1. Seeing the outfits the Roxy Girls have worn on the recently publicity shows (the dresses with the eyeballs on it) I pictured Charlotte saying she was the one that brought the most 'weird' to NGHFB until the Roxy Girls showed up and said Hold my Beer...
2. I really admire how Noel let and encouraged Charlotte be herself and subsequently the Roxy Girls. He's not making them conform to some NGHFB look. In fact, now the NGHFB looks like a very eclectic ensemble and I really think it's a fantastic aesthetic, much better than when he first started.
3. I love how at the launch press conference, Noel said NGHFB was essentially just him and a name for his solo project and now it is a 14 piece band.
4. He has so much potential to experiment, especially live. With the girls he could pull of a Fleetwood Mac type song or even a great cover of Stand! or Everyday people by Sly and the Family Stone. He's shown real versatility in his singing where he can sing different genres. I would not have been a fan of a Noel Covers Album in 2012 but with his personnel, they could pull of almost anything as long.

Can't quite imagine it actually happening, but would love to see them do Everyday People. Not a fan at all of cover albums, or straight-imitation covers, but definitely would like to see more out-of-left-field live covers. So many shows I've seen have been made by them (in the sense that 10 years later you're still saying, "remember that time NGHFB did Everyday People")

I would hate a full albums worth of covers as I'm not a big fan of them even live to be honest. But they're ok I guess. I still enjoy most of the covers which Oasis put out as b.sides though.

Be Careful... (Instrumental) is so chilling. No need to smoke anything. Very appeasing and loads of new bits i never heard of. Great little piece of music.

What was Noel thinking with the studio version of Record Machine. Had years to finish it up, and the final version is by far the worse version that exists.

Just out of interest what makes you think this? It's always been my favourite song on NGHFB and I think the production is brilliant (except perhaps the choir which I do dislike on that album and SOTSOG). But I still can't really fault the arrangement. Despite this, I much prefer the rawness of the demo on Faster Than The Speed Of Magic.

I just really think everything about the production of the final version of the song makes it weaker. The choir is unnecessary, the instrumentation doesn't fit as well as the demo version does, the vocals are worse, and he for some reason removed the bassline. The DBTT era production style isn't my favorite, but in my opinion it fit this song perfectly. The bland, overproduction of the NGHFB-album era just detracts everything I liked from the song. It also does this (to a lesser extent because the song isn't as good) to Stop the Clocks.

Genuinely think Sail On is one of the best High Flying Bird's songs ever, and one of his sweetest and melancholy tunes ever.

There are songs that were elevated from the use of the choir like Roll It Over or Everybodys on The Run. On Record Machine it feels too overbearing.

Yeah, I know Noel used choirs on some Oasis songs but on his debut album the choir is far too over baring on the songs which they're used on for me. At least with the Oasis songs the choirs worked much better because they weren't over bearing.

Choir on HFB : OK bar Record Machine Choir on SOTSOG: Not OK bar Roll it Over
Now it's time to stop though. That and female back vox. We got enough tunes like that.

Fairly sure it wasn't a real choir on SOTSOG but the choir setting on a mellotron.

2023 for the next album !? Way too long ! He's said this often (and these were recorded before BTWWC came out), he's not gonna put it out if he can't tour it properly I can see it coming out in second half of 2022 if things go back to some kind of normality (which, to be honest, doesn't seem likely now, but who knows)

On SOTSOG, Linda Lewis and PP Arnold, very accomplished singers were the backing vocalists for FITB, Put Your Money Where Your Mouth is and Roll It Over. The other choir sounds on the album were fake and lousy. However, two of the tracks with Linda and PP (FITB, and ROll It Over) are probably the two best tracks on the album. Noel should do more with female vox, not less. They have been much more prominent from 2017-present and it has made the sound vibrant. I don't know if Noel wrote with Liam in mind for Oasis but if he did, he really should now write with female vocalists in mind.
