Anyone in London, there’s a massive load of Oasis 7” and 12” singles at Reckless Records and Sister Ray on Berwick street (the famous MG cover street). I was there Saturday and bought a few things. What’s there is:
-Sunday morning call 12” (£100) -little by little 7” (£40) -who feels love? 12” (£60) -little by little 12” (£75) -some might say 12” (£80) -shakermaker 12” (£80) -D’you know what I mean 7” (£25) -don’t look back in anger 7” (£50) -I’m outta time 7” (£25) -I’m outta time remixes 7” (£25) -the shock of the lightning 7” (£25) -falling down 7” (£25) -some might say Japanese import CD (£25) -standing on the shoulders 2000 press (£100) -dig out your soul fan club box set (£40) -bootleg 12” of a European BHN 97 gig (£20) -DM, MG chasing the sun boxes (£200 each) -Liam’ WMWN one sided 7” singles (£10 I think)
I bought 7” copies of SCYHO and SMC as well as a 12” of RWI. I found as much in 1 day at these two shops than I have in 23 years of searching in person!

Talking of The Hindu Times, does anyone know what the tune is playing at the beginning of the video is, or is it just noodling on the piano and guitar? Long long time ago I read that it was played by WIZ(the director of the music video) and Gem, but I could be misremembering stuff. 0:04 seconds into the video you can see someone playing on a keyboard or piano. I’ve never worked out who it was. Was that the director WIZ, Andrew Whiston

If I remember correctly, Noel was a fan of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club at the time.

It was 24 years ago yesterday since the Oasis Jools Holland special was aired on BBC2. I haven't watched that in a very long time.

Live Forever has been voted number one yet again in Radio X's all time favourite British songs of all time. Voted for by listeners in Radio X's annual Best Of British poll – and topping the list for the second year in a row – 'Live Forever' is one of four Oasis tracks making up the top 10, alongside 'Slide Away,' 'Champagne Supernova,' and 'Don't Look Back In Anger.' What a band.

As great as it was to see 14 Oasis songs in the top 100 and 4 in the top 10, it’s a weird list;
Only 1 Beatles song (Come Together), 1 Pink Floyd song (Wish You Were Here) and not a single Zeppelin song.

It’s dominated by the songs they play. A couple of years ago, Sam Fender claimed the top spot with “17 Going Under”, which had been on heavy rotation. This year it wasn’t in the Top 10.

This is the thing, they don't really play classic rock on that station so their listeners aren't really inclined to vote for any classic rock bands (or songs by any other artists that don't fit the mould of what that station typically plays). That's why you always get such a skewed list

Radio X is a station which I've never really listened to but I used to listen to it a lot when it was XFM as that was a good station.

XFM was brilliant just for the legendary The Ricky Gervais Show alone.

HD upscaling almost makes it unreal. What an earthquake of a band they were at this point in time.

That's why you always get such a skewed list I understand it’s more of an Indie station than Classic Rock but they had Bowie, Rolling Stones and Queen on the list. Pink Floyd I totally get, you can’t play Shine On You Crazy Diamond and Echoes too many times on the Radio but any station which heavily rotates Oasis and Stone Roses must play the Beatles! I rarely listen to Radio X but just happened to hear it was their Top 100 Best of British and when it got down to the Top 10 I was like where’s A Day in the Life or Strawberry Fields or Eleanor Rigby?? Null and void if you ask me😂😂 Ah well it’s just a bit of fun on a bank holiday but thought it was strange that a Best of British music ranking (especially one focused on guitar music) had one Beatles song and no Led Zep

Deservedly so. It's quite amazing that four songs are in the top 10. Moreover, one of them isn’t Wonderwall! Meanwhile, Wonderwall was the most streamed song of the 70s, 80s and 90s. DLBIA at number 7.

Born on a Different Cloud is the best song Liam ever wrote. Disagree as I think that he's written better songs than that especially since he's been solo. Also, I think that Guess God Thinks I'm Able is the best song he wrote when he was in Oasis.

Born on a Different Cloud is the best song Liam ever wrote. If we're talking about Oasis songs, it's definitely up there in my top 3 alongside with Songbird and I'm Outta Time. Live version is even better and love the middle part when the guitars kick in ("Lonely soul..."). I can't decide which one of those three is the best. Maybe Songbird if I had to choose.
