Born on a Different Cloud is the best song Liam ever wrote. If we're talking about Oasis songs, it's definitely up there in my top 3 alongside with Songbird and I'm Outta Time. Live version is even better and love the middle part when the guitars kick in ("Lonely soul..."). I can't decide which one of those three is the best. Maybe Songbird if I had to choose. I was listening to some bootlegs the other day and yeah, it was the live version that really swung it for me. It just seems to have more depth than everything else he wrote. Songbird is basically two chords and basic. It’s good but there’s not much too it. I can take it leave I’m out of time. I’ve always enjoyed Meaning of Soul and Guess God Thinks I’m Able. Even Pass Me Down the Wine. The less said about Beady Eye the better for me and I just ignore his solo stuff because I have no interest in it. But Born on a Different Cloud? Yeah, I’m having that,

I was watching Escape to the country and they showed Rockfield Studios. Completely a nice surprise.

Yeah, 30 years ago today and it's also 30 years ago today since Oasis played at the Wheatsheaf in Stoke-On-Trent.

Thanks for the link, I've just had a quick look and I'm surprised that some of the songs are quite low in the chart and I don't mean just the Oasis ones. I really thought that Heart Of Glass by Blondie for example would be a lot higher in in the chart than what it is.

Little late, I know. 30 years to the date Oasis played at the Lomax in Liverpool! Where's the rest of the footage, Noel?

Man…Playing Oasis on your acoustic at a slower tempo just makes you appreciate the songwriting and the melodies that much more, even for the more “rock” tunes. Been playing a bunch of brilliant b-sides all day: The Fame Step Out Stay Young Sister Lover Helps to do them on a NG Signature J-150 as well

On this day in 2002 Oasis released their Hindu Times single. The demo is one beast of a song. The single is sloppy and uninspired.

On this day in 2002 Oasis released their Hindu Times single. The demo is one beast song a song. The single is sloppy and uninspired. The demo is obviously better than the single, but the single is still ok. The demo sounds more raw and I like the lyrics more. The single is better in terms of tempo, because it's faster than the demo.

The demo is ok but not great but the single version sounds much better as far as I'm concerned and I still listen to it quite a lot where as the demo I haven't listened to it in years.

The Hindu Times - good today as it always was. Good in every single version that I've ever heard:

Oasis I would say they never had many music videos that were worth watching separated from the song. Hindu Times vid is above average but has among my favourite ever shots. Contrived? yes, but I still love this. A bit like John and Paul 'sharing' a mike in '64, this is the closest we'll ever get now.

HC is a top album for me. Looking back at DBTT I don’t rate it. 2002 - GCSE’s and England crashing out of World Cup to SCYHO

I only like DYKWIM, Acquiesce live GMEX, SCYHO and The Hindu Times.

Looking back at DBTT I don’t rate it. 2002 - GCSE’s and England crashing out of World Cup to SCYHO I like both albums, however, I think that Heathen Chemistry has the better singles than Don't Believe The Truth. Although saying that I think that The Importance Of Being Idle is up there with the Heathen Chemistry singles.
